Chapter 13

Meaghan was a bit concerned about how well Dean seemed to know his way around the premises; it’s like he was a regular or something. He led her to a secluded area which had private booths partitioned with velvet drapes. He took her hand and led her into one of the booths, sitting her down on the plush velvet sofa with a grimace at the over the top décor. He sat down next to her and smiled.

“So,” he said.

“Yes,” she replied looking expectantly at him.

“I er, wanted to see how you were doing,” he said raising his brows.

“You did? You just saw me yesterday,” she said in surprise.

“I know but we kind of left things in the air.”

“True,” she agreed.

“So,” he said looking at her with fire in his eyes.

“So,” she agreed.

They stared at each other for long moments then Dean leaned forward and covered her lips with his. Her lips softened under his and she let him in. It was all the impetus he needed to smash his lips into hers, chasing her hot sweet warmth so deep she felt dizzy with it. His hands dug into her neck, pulling her closer to him while his hardness dug hard into her hip. He ground himself into her everywhere, his lips, his hips and his hands; she was so tight against him that breathing might actually be a challenge if she was remembering that she had to do that. Luckily for her she wasn’t, not really. She’d yet to run out of the breath that she had so that was good.

“Meaghan,” he rasped, licking along her jaw and then clamping his teeth around her neck and sucking frantically. Meaghan’s head fell back without her say so, giving him more access and he groaned as if he was in pain.

“What say we move this party to my house?” he mumbled against her neck.

“I can’t ditch Bain,” she protested.

“Please,” the word was dragged from his lips as if he was in pain and could barely talk. Meaghan hesitated. She was so tempted she wondered why she wasn’t just standing up to go with him. But she remembered his uncertainty from yesterday; how he wouldn’t tell her anything definite.

“No,” she murmured pushing him away. His lips chased hers and his hooded eyes were glazed and staring hungrily at her as if he would swallow her whole if only he could.

Meaghan stood up and that seemed to break the spell he was under. He stared up at her as if waiting for direction.

“Are you coming?” she asked as she stepped out of the booth.

He stood up and followed her and they went back to Bain who was wrapped around Daniel who was still in a relative state of undress as compared to the other people at the table. Smith Winchester and Meaghan guessed that the blonde girl sitting next to her and conversing intently with Daniel was Smith’s sister. She came up to the booth and smiled at everyone and Bain brightened immediately putting his hand out to pull her in.

“Meaghan this is Daniel. Daniel? Meaghan,” he said pulling Daniel’s attention away from Smith’s sister. Meaghan smiled and held her hand out to be shaken. Daniel leaned forward and gathered her to him in a full bodied hug. Meaghan stiffened as she was separated from his junk simply by a thin strip of pink and her jeans. She pulled away as soon as she could smiling brightly to cover her discomfort.

“Great to meet you,” she said.

“Bain’s told me so much about you,” Daniel said smiling back at her. His smile was so stunning it knocked her for six; she could see exactly what Bain saw in him. Dean was less enamored by him, pulling her back toward him and snaking his arm possessively around her waist. She and Bain exchanged conspiratorial smiles at that but refrained from comment.

“And this is her er…guy Dean,” Bain said and Daniel held his hand out to be shaken. Dean shook it as he glared. Meaghan wasn’t sure he was aware that he was glaring though.

Smith’s sister leaned forward reaching for Meaghan’s hand. “Bella,” she said briefly, “I don’t think we’ve had the pleasure.”

“Meaghan,” she replied reaching for her hand and smiling.

“So you’re the girl who’s causing all sorts of disruption in Dean’s life huh?” Bella said looking her up and down assessingly.

“Am I?” Meaghan asked hoping to get some more info about the alleged rifts she was apparently causing without so much as meeting the people concerned.

“Oh yes. There is a tremendous amount of upset. Fueled by Samantha of course,” Bella seemed amused by this which Meaghan didn’t know how to take.

“I’m…sorry?” she said and Bella laughed outright.

“Are you?” she asked as if she knew way more about it than Meaghan did.

Smith chose that moment to butt in so Meaghan couldn’t ask her to elaborate.

“What say we take these…discussions elsewhere?” he suggested.

“Oh? Where?” Daniel asked still wrapped around Bain like a plaster.

“My place,” Smith said smiling in that secretive way he seemed to share with his sister as if they were privy to things that the rest of the company had no clue about.

“Yeah let’s go to Smith’s place,” Dean concurred. Meaghan looked at Bain who shrugged and they all made their way out.

“Are you done for the night then?” Meaghan asked Daniel.

“Well yeah I mean after the performance it’s pretty much up to us how long we wanna stick around. It depends on how many clients want a private show. Lucky for me, Bain’s bought out all my private shows,” he said grinning at her.

“Lucky for you? You don’t enjoy those?” Meaghan asked curiosity making her bold.

“Well let’s just say for a guy in a serious relationship they can be a bit of a problem,” he said nudging her. Meaghan stared at him not really understanding what he was saying to her. What happened in the private shows? She made a note to ask Bain when they had a minute alone. This was supposed to be a sleepover with just the two of them. It seemed that plan was going south pretty fast. They all got into their respective cars and followed Smith to his house. It was a sprawling bungalow in the suburbs of New York with a long driveway where they could park their cars without impeding anyone. Smith put on some music and offered everyone a drink. Meaghan wasn’t driving or working the next day so she elected to go with vodka with lime. She sat next to Daniel intending to get to know him better and was just settling down to asking him some seriously personal questions when Dean came up to sit next to her and put his arms around her shoulders.

She leaned back against him and put her mouth close to his ear, “Dean? Honey? This possessive act of yours is getting old,” she whispered.

Dean smiled at her and put his mouth to her ear. “It’s not an act,” he said. Meaghan shivered in spite of herself. She turned quickly to Daniel and smiled at him catching his eye as he was turning back to look at Bain sitting on his other side. He smiled back at her and then leaned in to lie against Bain. He lifted his right leg and draped it over Bain’s, leaning in to kiss his jaw. Bain smiled that happy smile that Meaghan hadn’t seen before and her heart couldn’t help lightening to see it.

“Looks like Daniel is otherwise occupied,” Dean whispered in her ear. “What say you and I…” he leaned forward to lick her ear making her shudder. She leaned back against him and he leaned his head on top of hers.
