Chapter 10
Without moving a muscle, Gabrielle had slept straight until the sun’s rays reached her face, creating an orange shade behind her eyelids. Her eyes found Mike’s sleepy face inches from hers as she slowly left the bed. Stretching, she opened the window to breathe the fresh morning air and face the marvelous sight of the tall trees surrounding their hotel. I was like she was on another planet. So quiet and pleasant.
The chirping of the birds followed her to the kitchen, where she pulled out everything from the small fridge. Their room was actually like a small apartment, equipped with everything. After she placed the ingredients on the counter and decided what to cook, she put a teapot on the stove, filling it with water. She made sandwiches while waiting for it to boil and then placed the plates and glasses on a tray. Content, she returned to their bed to find Michael still snoring.
“My sleepy sweetheart,” she said to herself, affection washing over her. Carefully, she sat on the bed and put the tray on the sheets, trying not to disturb him. However, he apparently smelled something because his nose twitched a little and his lips slightly lifted.
“Good morning!” Gabrielle planted a kiss on his forehead. He silently reached for her arm and pulled her on top of him.
“No, you’ll spill the tea,” she squealed, but he paid no heed. His lips traveled all over her face and neck, his fingers tickling her.
“You thought you wouldn’t be punished for leaving the bed too soon,” he joked and she laughed, playfully biting his earlobe.
“I prepared you a delicious breakfast. That must count,” she said, slowly detaching from him. He supported his head on his hand and glanced at the tray.
“Yummy! This looks just like a scene in the movies,” he chuckled, taking one of the glasses and sipping the tea.
“Good. That’s what I intended in the first place. Although I don’t think that Brad Pitt would be satisfied only with a sandwich,” she teased and he shot an accusing look at her.
“Hmm? You want to say that he’s better than me?”

Gabrielle’s toes played with Michael’s, going up and down his leg at times. “Quite the opposite, Mr. Good. The sandwich is only a start for you.”
Michael laughed and bit the sandwich, swallowing it seductively. That made Gabrielle smile, as she ate her own sandwich. To be honest, it was one of the best sandwiches she had ever made. Love did strange things even to her culinary skills.
Bite by bite and look after look, they finished their breakfast. But the touches didn’t cease. He put aside the tray and sat closer to her. She could feel his warm breath on her face when he kissed her passionately.

“There’s something strange about you, Gabby,” Michael suddenly said, putting on his jeans.
She was caught off guard. “Strange? Why?” she asked bewildered. What was the matter now? Did she do something bad unintentionally?
