Previously we covered what MMC means, but there’s another term that often comes up:
FMC!
In short, FMC stands for Female Main Character.
It refers to the main lady (or ladies) in a romance story, usually the one who falls in love with the other lead character or characters.
As you may have guessed, the related term, MMC, stands for Male Main Character.
While typically there’s only one FMC in a story, there can be more when it’s a woman-on-woman romance, or when there’s a love triangle of sorts.
Often, the FMC tends to get more page time than other characters, but this isn’t always the case.
