Chalondra was informed that her boss’ friend had indeed arrived. Chalondra reached the girls’ room and briefly knocked. She was stunned at the beauty of the girls when they opened the door. She knew they would do a great job.

“It’s time, girls,” Chalondra said with a practiced smile and almost rolled her eyes when they chuckled.

She led them towards the VIP section just as Nick stepped out of the room.

“It’s about time you got here. I was starting to get worried that you were slacking in your job,” Nick said, and Chalondra blanched. It wouldn’t do well for her if her boss thought she wasn’t taking her job seriously.

“I went to get the girls,” Chalondra explained, and Nick briefly glanced at the girls behind her. He nodded and told Chalondra the space David occupied.

“Good evening, sir,” Chalondra greeted as they reached David’s space. She recognized him as a regular. Everyone knew him, so she wasn’t surprised that he was the one her boss had gone all out for. David’s eyes darkened as he took Chalondra in. He had never seen her before. He found her sexy and attractive. He silently said a word of prayers to Nick for getting him a sexy woman like Chalondra. Chalondra frowned when she realized that David’s gaze lingered on her. It was obvious that he was paying no attention to what she was saying.

“I was asked to bring the ladies to you,” Chalondra continued despite his obvious lack of attention.

“Name your price,” he said with a smile. Confusion appeared on Chalondra’s face for the briefest moment before realization set in. Her first thought was that she hadn’t heard correctly.

“Excuse me,” she said with a puzzled expression. At this point, the four girls who followed Chalondra swung into action as they moved to David’s side. They were two on each side and were rubbing themselves on him. He wasn’t concerned about any of these, and his sole focus was on Chalondra.

“I said, name your price for a night with you,” David repeated, and Chalondra’s frown deepened. Her first thought was that David had mistaken her for one of the escorts. She wondered why he would do that when she was totally different from them in appearance and everything else.

“I’m sorry, sir, I think you must have mixed things up. I’m not one of them,” Chalondra explained as two of the girls rubbed their palms over David’s chest. They were trying to get his attention, but David seemed oblivious to their presence.

“I know you aren’t. I don’t want them. I want you,” David said, and the girls beside him threw Chalondra a glare. Chalondra stared at him for the a long minute as she tried to wrap her mind around the fact that she had heard David correctly. David was staring at her with a serious look, and Chalondra knew he wasn’t joking. Rage ran through her as she glared at him but refrained from doing anything drastic.

“With all due respect, I’m not one of the offers. These girls have been carefully selected, and I’m sure they will see to your need. If that will be all, I’ll take my leave now,” Chalondra said and didn’t wait for David to respond to that before she left.

David smirked at Chalondra’s retreating figure. He had never been rejected by a woman before, and Chalondra doing that was refreshing for him. He was used to women going out their way to please him. He couldn’t help the surge of desire he still felt for Chalondra despite the fact that she was long gone.

“Get your hands off my crotch,” David barked to one of the ladies, who had drifted her palm lower to his groin. He stared at the four ladies and waited for any reaction from any of them. He wasn’t surprised when he felt no desire toward them. There was only one person he wanted, and she had just rejected him. David wanted Chalondra with everything in him.

“We’ll give you the most memorable night,” one of them whispered into David’s ear before she kissed the shell of his ear. Rather than feel a surge of desire at her action, what David felt was disgust.

“I’m not interested. I need the four of you to leave,” David said, and he heard their gasp.

“I’ll give Nick some money to give to the four of you,” David said, and their faces relaxed at this.

“We are always nearby if you need us,” one of them said before they left David alone. David couldn’t help the image of Chalondra that filtered into his mind. He imagined her in his arms. He imagined holding her curves which were visible through the penciled skirt and shirt she had on. He wondered what her price would be because he wanted her in his bed. No-one else held interest for him, and Nick was nowhere to be found. David decided to leave the club and lodge in his hotel. The night hadn’t gone how he had planned, but he was determined to get Chalondra in his bed no matter what it took.

“Goodness!” Chalondra exclaimed as she entered her apartment hours later and slumped on her sofa. She was drained and could barely move an inch. She felt relief that she had been able to handle things at the club. However, she recalled David’s proposition and rage filled her once more. She had been unable to keep thoughts of his outrageous proposal since she walked out on him.

“What arrogance,” Chalondra muttered under her breath as memories of his self-assured look when he had made his proposal resurfaced in her mind. She was pissed that he thought he could get any woman with a price. Chalondra recalled how she had been close to lashing out at him. She had refrained from doing so because she wasn’t ready to lose her job, especially not when she had just gotten a promotion.

“Such a shame,” Chalondra said under her breath as she thought of how good-looking David was. However, thoughts of that were shoved to the back of her mind when she recalled his proposal. Chalondra decided to forget about David. She felt there was little chance of coming across him again. Chalondra dragged herself towards the bedroom. All she had in mind was to freshen up and sleep. She needed to prepare for the long day that awaited her the following day. She slept as soon as her head touched the pillow.

Chalondra’s alarm went off some hours later, and that was her cue to prepare for the day. She started with her usual routine of having a bath. She picked a dark green gown which accentuated her figure, making her curves stand out. But she took little time in wearing it.

She packed her dreadlocks and left her bedroom some minutes later. She made a mental note of her to-do list for when she would reach the hotel. She decided to make some toast and an omelet for breakfast and was in the middle of it when her phone started ringing.

She dug it out from her handbag and smiled when she realized it was Natasha calling. “Hey girl,” Chalondra said as she answered the call.

“Good morning,” Natasha said.

“Good morning,” Chalondra replied with a smile as her toast popped. She hurriedly brought it out.

“Thank goodness you decided to answer your phone calls today,” Natasha said as Chalondra sighed. She had gotten a lot of missed calls from Natasha for the past few days, but she had been too busy with work or too exhausted to return her calls.

“I’m sorry, Natasha. Work has been hectic lately,” Chalondra said.

“I was worried sick. I thought I would come over today if you didn’t answer,” Natasha said, and Chalondra smiled. Natasha was the only person who truly cared about her.
