“Oh sh*t,” Chalondra muttered when she checked her wristwatch and realized that her lunch break was almost over.

“Is there a problem?” David asked with an alarmed look.

“I have to leave now. I have ten minutes before my break will be over, and the drive to Carnero’s is about fifteen minutes,” Chalondra said. They hadn’t realized that time had flown the way it did.

“What about dinner tomorrow night?” David asked, and Chalondra smiled.

“I will be on lates all through the week,” she said as she grabbed her bag while David grimaced at the information.

“That’s too much stress for you,” David said with a frown.

“It’s what my job entails,” Chalondra said as she smiled. “Trust me, I want to spend as much time as I can with you but not this week. How about we fix something next week?”

David didn’t like the idea of spending days without seeing Chalondra, but he respected that she took her work seriously. “Fine,” David said.

“I’m glad you like that, and the dinner will be my treat,” Chalondra said, and David frowned.

“No way will you do that!”

“You have a problem with me paying?” Chalondra asked with arched brows.

“No, I don’t, but I want to be the one to spoil you as much as I can,” David said, and Chalondra smiled at this.

“I understand, and I know you deserve to be pampered as well. That’s why I want to do this,” Chalondra said. David smiled; he couldn’t remember the last time a woman had put him into consideration. He was used to women wanting all he could offer and not wanting to give anything in return.

“What do you have in mind?” David asked.

“I thought I could invite you over. We could have dinner and watch some movies,” Chalondra said, and David found the idea a good one.

“Good, we’ll fix a time before then. I have to leave now,” Chalondra said.

“Okay, I’ll see you off to your car,” David said before they rose and left the restaurant.

“I’ll give you a call this evening,” David said as they reached their car.

“I’ll be expecting,” Chalondra said with a smile. They stared at each other for a while before David said, “I want you so bad.”

“David…” Chalondra whispered as she raised her hand and cupped his jaw. Her fingers grazed over his stumble, and David felt tremors down to his toes.

David closed his eyes for a brief moment to get a semblance of sanity before he opened them one more. Chalondra was robbing him of his mind.

“Take care of yourself,” he said as he stepped back.

“And you too,” Chalondra said before she got into her car. David waited until she drove off before he returned to his Aston Martin. Brandon started the car without a word while David lost himself in his thoughts. He thought of how Chalondra lit up something with him. He thought how she had almost robbed him of his control, and he wasn’t about to complain about it.
