Chapter 6
Chalondra moaned as she slowly awoke. She frowned when she stared at the all-white ceiling, which was different from her colorful bedroom ceiling. For a brief moment, she had no recognition of where she was. She felt hot all over. That was when she looked down and found someone covering half of her body. Instantly, memories of what had happened flooded her; how she had been on a date with David the previous night. How she had been unable to help herself and gave in to the desire she felt for David. She stared down at his dark hair and felt the urge to run her fingers through it.
“Sh*t,” she muttered as the realization of her actions hit her. She had s*x with David on the first date. She almost let out a groan and mentally facepalmed herself for her weakness. She hadn’t planned any of what had happened. She grimaced at the thought of adding to the list of the ladies to grace David’s bed. David turned at that moment as he disentangled from her until he was lying by her side. Chalondra could properly take in his features. She smiled as she stared at his lips, his sharp jawline. He looked peacefully asleep. Chalondra suppressed the urge to run her palm over his stubble. As much as she would like to regret what had happened between her and David last night, she couldn’t because it was one of the most beautiful things that had ever happened to her. She thought of what would happen if David woke, and decided that she didn’t want the beautiful memories of the previous night to get ruined when David told her that she was just an addition to the league of women he had been with. She decided to leave before he woke. Chalondra slowly sat up and got off the bed. She hurriedly dressed herself all the while David was still asleep. She stared at his spread torso and started feeling the tingling sensation once more. Chalondra wanted to return to the bed, most especially to David’s arms. She imagined what it would be like if it had been another scenario. A circumstance where their relationship was different and where David wasn’t a stranger she barely knew.
Chalondra paused when she realized where her mind was drifting to. No, I don’t need a man. Chalondra couldn’t recollect how they had made it to the bedroom because she had been too busy trying to get all of David. The yacht was silent; it seemed David and her were the only ones on it. Slowly, she found her way out of the yacht. Chalondra found a taxi which took her home, and by the time it was dawn, she had freshened up. She sent a message to her boss about how she wasn’t going to be available for work that day. She wanted to take her time wrapping her head around everything.

David smiled as he heard the chirps of the birds. His eyes were still closed, and he was filled with glee as he recalled how the previous night had gone. Chalondra had succeeded in knocking him out of his breath. He couldn’t recall the last time a woman had made him pass out due to intense pleasure. He couldn’t get enough of her, and he wanted more. Without opening his eyes, David stretched his hands out to reach out for her. He frowned when his hand came up empty. He abruptly opened his eyes and glanced at his side. His brows creased with a frown when he saw an empty space. Immediately, David sat up as he wondered where Chalondra was.
“Chalondra?” he called out while he hoped she was in the adjoining bathroom. He frowned when he got no response.
“She is probably around here somewhere,” he muttered under his breath. A brief thought occurred to him that Chalondra had left, but he dismissed it because no woman had ever left him before. In fact, he was used to women getting clingy to him. David decided to look around. He turned to the side of the bed and was about to stand when he noticed something.
“No, no…” he whispered as he stared around. Chalondra’s belongings were gone. He remembered removing her beautiful gown from her the previous night and was sure that it had been carelessly discarded on the floor. None of them had thought of properly arranging their clothes.
“Sh*t,” he muttered as he stood before he went to the bathroom. He knew before he opened the door that the bathroom would be empty. He still doubted what had happened. Hence, he grabbed a loose pair of trousers from the closet and wore them before he left the bedroom. “Chalondra!” he called out again as he searched.
“Good morning, sir,” Mrs. Pelosi, the chef on the yacht, greeted David when he entered the kitchen.
“Good morning. Have you see the lady with me around?” he asked.

“Yes, sir, I saw her leave before dawn,” she said, and David let out a curse under his breath. He couldn’t believe what had just happened. Chalondra had broken another rule of his. He couldn’t help but admit that she intrigued him even more than she had before. She kept amazing him at every turn. However, he was furious that she hadn’t considered her safety when she had left. She could be in danger, for all he knew. He wondered if it was because she wanted so badly to get away from him.
“Is there a problem, sir?” Mrs. Pelosi asked with concern. Mrs. Pelosi had seen the anger on David’s face.
“Of course not,” David said as he relaxed his facial expression before he left the kitchen. He marched back to his room and quickly freshened up. He dressed for work in a few minutes and left the yacht. David got to his workplace very early, and he couldn’t take the event that had happened away from his mind. He kept replaying the whole event, and the only part which didn’t please him was when Chalondra left. David was determined to have a talk with Chalondra. For the first time in years, he wanted more than a night with a woman. He wasn’t satisfied with her yet, and he would do anything to have her again. David had just settled in his office when his personal assistant informed him of his first meeting. David’s day usually started with meetings, and he didn’t have a break until noon
However, all through this while he could barely concentrate on work without images of Chalondra filling his head. In fact, on several occasions, he had started getting erect as the image of Chalondra loosening up beneath him filled his mind. David decided to take the opportunity of the lunch break to visit her. Hence, he drove to Carnero’s and got there within minutes.
Anticipation filled him at the thought of seeing Chalondra again. David got on the elevator and pressed the button to Chalondra’s floor. It took a few minutes before the elevator reached her floor because it stopped at intervals, and people got in. David made his way to her office but was met with the surprise of his life when he found her door locked. He had knocked several times and was puzzled that she wasn’t in her office. She wondered if Chalondra had gotten home safe. He was beginning to worry. He brought out his phone from his pants and dialed her number. The phone rang without an answer.
