He continued to work for a while before he packed up for the day, it had already gone 5 pm and he had to get home in time for dinner with Sophie’s friend Olivia. Andre was worried more about meeting Olivia than he had been about meeting Sophie’s parents.
Sophie had explained to him that morning that Olivia didn’t understand the surrogacy part so she may also be standoffish about them being a proper relationship. Andre wanted Olivia to like him, for Sophie’s sake because he could tell that Sophie valued her friend’s opinion. On his way home Andre stopped to pick up some flowers, buying two bunches so they could take some for Olivia.
“Sophie?” he called once he had arrived home, parked the car and entered the house.
“I’m in here,” she answered, her voice came from the bathroom.
He found Sophie standing in the shower as he entered the bathroom, her round belly covered in soap and bubbles as she stood under the running water, rinsing it off.
“How was your day?” she asked as she stepped out of the shower and wrapped herself up in one of the large towels Andre bought.
“It was good, surprisingly good. Max was extremely kind to me for some reason,” he replied as he watched Sophie dry herself off before she started to moisturize. He loved to watch her do normal everyday things, she seemed so careful almost all the time that he could just watch her for hours.
“Well, that’s definitely good news,” Sophie said as she looked up and smiled at Andre.
“You know you’re so beautiful, right?” Andre said as he walked over to Sophie.
She was half-naked as she had moved the towel to expose the skin she wanted to lather in cream. Her chocolate skin glowed in the light of the bathroom.
“You’re making me blush,” she pointed out as she kissed him quickly and softly.
“I just don’t want you to forget that you’re literally the best thing in my life, you and Quin,” he said.
Sophie looked at him shocked, he knew she was shocked to hear he called the baby Quin because they hadn’t decided on a name yet.
“Are we going with Quin?” she asked.
“Yes, we are. It’s perfect for her,” Andre said as he placed his hands on her belly. The bump had gotten bigger and their daughter continued to move and grow every day. It was amazing to watch.
“That’s amazing, oh, this is amazing,” Sophie exclaimed as she kissed Andre once more.
Andre chuckled under his breath as he watched Sophie move to the bedroom with excitement.
“I’m going to have a quick shower so I’m fresh for tonight and then we can go once you’re ready,” Andre called as he started to strip in the bathroom.
“Okay!” Sophie called back.
Andre thought about the marriage topic that had been brought up that day and if and when would he ask Sophie. He knew that he would marry her, even if they were in a relationship without the baby in the picture, Andre would still want to spend the rest of his life with Sophie. He knew everything was still new and exciting for them, after all, they had only been in a relationship for 3 months so he knew it would be too soon to ask her such a huge question, however, he was sure he would ask her eventually. He would do it in a way that even she wouldn’t see it coming but he knew he would wait until the baby was born, at least that way they would have been together for a longer period of time.
Although the more he thought about it the more he knew that it didn’t matter how long they had been together, everything was working out perfectly and if they both knew that they wanted to be together why not get married as soon as possible Andre wondered while in the shower.
His mind liked the idea of asking her before the baby arrived and he couldn’t help but feel excited at the thought of marrying her legally before the baby came, that way they could be a proper family. He liked the idea a lot. He felt excited as he got out of the shower and made his way to the bedroom, he would ask Sophie to marry him and he’d be the luckiest guy in the world.
He quickly got dressed and ready to go while Sophie finished up her makeup. She had a dress on that touched the floor even after covering the bump, she looked amazing. Andre looked at the time and couldn’t believe that it was already 6:30 pm.
“We need to get going if you want to be there on time,” he said to Sophie as she grabbed a coat.
“Then it’s a good thing I’m ready,” she announced with a cheeky grin.
“Perfect, let’s hit the road,” Andre said as he led them out to the car. He opened the passenger door for her and helped her climb into the car before he got into the drivers’ side.
“Thank you for agreeing to meet Olivia on such short notice,” Sophie said as he drove.
“It’s no problem at all. We’re going to have to tell the world about Quin soon so might as well start with family and friends,” Andre said.
“What do you mean we’re telling the world?” Sophie asked.
“Well, won’t you make it public on social media that we’re having a baby?” Andre asked.
“Oh, yes. I thought you meant you would make it public for business reasons,” she replied.
“No, no. I run my business, not everyone needs to know what I do with my private life. Only business investors will know because I won’t be there for a few months when she’d be born,” Andre said.

“I completely understand,” Sophie said.
They talked a bit about the baby’s room, deciding that the next day would be the perfect day to go looking for everything they need to start setting it up. Sophie seemed excited to get things going as she listed off all of the things she wanted to get. Andre felt excited just from her voice as he realized that in 2 short months their baby will be with them.
“We also need to go for another ultrasound,” Sophie said.
They had been going for the ultrasounds every other week, hearing their baby’s heartbeat always made things that much more real.
“I’ll call and book an appointment tomorrow,” Andre replied.
