Catherine stood up from the chair she was sitting in and slipped her hands beneath the fabric of Ryan’s shirt.

The corners of Catherine’s mouth turned upwards into a smile and she pulled her blouse from the chair it was draped over, preparing to get dressed. There was a warmth that stained Catherine’s cheeks and she felt a sudden wave of exhaustion and hunger, even though she didn’t want to admit it. If she had it her way, she would spend the rest of the day and night with him, repeating what they just did in between every meal.
“I know I have to really think about what you told me, Ryan,” Catherine said, chewing on her lower lip and accepting her skirt from him as he handed it to her. “I don’t know how to believe it, but I don’t think I can say I don’t believe it, either.”
“I can prove everything to you, Catherine,” Ryan said, leaning in towards her to fan his breath across her face. “All you have to do is trust me and agree to help me take Alan out. Everything else can be explained and you will know anything and everything there is to know. I promise.”
Catherine’s expression softened at the hope lighting up Ryan’s features and she couldn’t help but smile and nod her head in agreement. As Ryan enveloped her in a tight hug, her smile turned to uncertainty and she looked towards the door; finding herself afraid of what the answer would be if she asked what Ryan meant by “take out Alan.”
