Chapter 9
Diana drove up to the house and noted the pristine white gazebo. Regardless of how he felt about having the wedding here, he was working hard to help her pull it off. To make her happy. She’d picked up a six pack of his favorite beer and the makings for chili dogs, his favorite meal after he’d worked hard all day.
He was waiting at the door for her. She set her stuff down and threw herself into his arms. At the same time, they said I’m sorry, laughed, and kissed.
“I really am,” Diana murmured as she looked into his eyes. “I know I’ve been a crazy bi*ch the past few weeks.”
“I just want to make you happy, babe,” Marty said. “I’m sorry for what I said. I’m just ready to be married to you.”
“Me too, babe.” She lifted up on her toes and kissed him again. “Let’s make a pledge. The wedding is four weeks away. No more fights.”
Marty narrowed his eyes and looked at her sideways. “You know damn well we’ll break that promise.”
She giggled prettily and pressed her body against his. “Yeah, you’re right. But I know one place we don’t argue. Ever.”

Marty pretended to think about her offer. “Yeah, okay. I’m okay with that.”
“I love you, Marty,” Diana murmured as she looked down at him.
“I love you.”

Two weeks before the wedding, Diana was reading through the RSVP’s and checking off the guests she and Marty had invited.
