“Now what?” I asked.
“I saw some gas behind the gas station. I’m sure Cameron is waiting for us, but I have a plan to distract him,” Donte said.
I nodded in agreement. We ran over to the gas station, but just as we were about to leave, Cameron showed up. He had two revolvers in his hands, and immediately Donte looked at me. “Hide behind a tree. If a vampire comes, knock him out,” Donte ordered.
I trusted Donte, but I was still worried about how in the world he would be able to beat this guy. Donte could see the fire of hatred in Cameron’s eyes. I knew that I would just have to wait until Donte took him down. Donte rushed at the other vampire, hitting him in the side. Cameron landed a punch to Donte’s stomach, but Donte didn’t flinch. It was either because of the abs or because of the blood. Either way, I was happy. Donte landed a swift kick in the nuts to Cameron though, and I immediately saw the guy howl in pain. To finish him off, Donte ripped the plastic off my hairpin, revealing a silver base. He stuck it in Cameron’s mouth, the silver causing the guy to spasm. I never saw a guy act like that. Donte grabbed the gun and looked at me.
“Get the gas and run!” he said.
I rushed over there. At this point, I could see the other vampires getting close. I grabbed four gallons of it, shocked at the strength that I had. We were right by the town, so we made a beeline to the car. When we got there, nobody was around yet. I could see them closing in though. I turned to Donte with worry plastered on my face.
“We have to fill up faster!” I screamed.
“I’m trying babe. Trust me,” he replied.
I did trust him, but it still scared the piss out of me. He filled it up though, and soon we were able to get away. I could see the other guys in the distance getting closer. I stowed the rest of the gas in the backseat, strapping in as Donte sped down the highway. We were soon away from all the vampires, and I felt happy about that. Donte looked back, happy as a clam.
“We beat them!” he exclaimed.
I was happy. I honestly didn’t think we would manage. But then again, I didn’t give Donte nearly enough credit when it came to beating down bad guys. We were safe for now, and we had enough gas to get to the next town. Hopefully it has less vampires. If we had to siphon gas to get to Montana, then so be it. I didn’t care as long as we got there safely and found the place, then we would be safe.
Raphael was looking at the car, noticing the two people getting away. He slammed his hand into one of the fences, causing it to rattle and then topple over.

“Those damn deserters. I hate them all!” he said.
The other vampires looked at the car as it slowly faded into the distance. Raphael looked over at Cameron, who was now dead. The other one was cleaned up and given an eye patch to put over the eye. Raphael turned to the other man and smiled.
“Ryan?” Raphael said.
The vampire looked at Raphael with shock plastered on his face. “Yes?”
“Go after your ex and that other bas*ard. I want them dead.”
