She nodded.
“I do have a lot on my plate but I also have a job to do now that you’re part of the Entity family.”
He nodded.
“Alright. So, what’s your plan with me? What do you intend to do with Douglas Ingram?” he asked in a soft voice but Tiffany could still hear the cynicism beneath it all.
“I’m just going to do my job. That’s all,” Tiffany said in a soft voice. “I handle Entity’s PR. So, by extension, I do work for you. Making your public image appealing is among my top-most priorities but I have to make this very clear: Entity is my employer and that company has survived terrible things. Worse than a hostile takeover by a spoiled billionaire.”
“Hostile takeover? Whoa… that is not what I did,” Douglas said in protest.
“Well, Entity had no idea that you were coming in and you literally stormed into a meeting in progress just to make the announcement that you’re the new majority shareholder. It was almost like you expected us to bow down to you or something.” Tiffany shrugged. “If that isn’t the definition of hostile takeover, I don’t know what is.”
Douglas shook his head.
“I’m sorry that I came out so strongly but you have to believe me, I never intended on a hostile takeover.”
Tiffany looked at him for a long time before she spoke again.
“Like I said before, I work for Entity. My job in a nutshell is to make Entity a brand that resonates with the public. To make it a brand that continues being the top most sought after advertising medium. So, I will do my job and make you look good but do not be mistaken; I will not for one second hesitate to make you look bad if it means saving the company.”

She didn’t know if he heard her past the gentle shake in her voice that proved to him that she wasn’t as comfortable in talking to him so harshly but she hoped that he heard every serious bit of her message. That was what she intended after all. She was still looking at him when the cab pulled up in front of her house.
“Have a good day, Mr. Ingram.”
He nodded.
“Have good day as well, Miss Meyers. I will see you in the office tomorrow.”
She could feel his eyes on her as she got out of the cab and walked to her door but she didn’t really care.
