“Good morning, Mr. Davis,” Paula eyed him seductively. “I’m glad you could make it.”

“Good morning to you too, Ms. Maxwell. I’m happy to be here. Forgive me for saying this, but you look absolutely stunning this morning,” he commented as he lifted her hand to showcase her outfit. Paula blushed immediately as she nodded a thank you and picked out a place to sit. A heavy sigh escaped her while she tried to keep her emotions in check as she followed him to a booth in the back of the restaurant. Jackson let her sit down first and then slid in next to her.

“You don’t mind do you?” He leaned playfully on her shoulder. “I’d rather be right next to you than have other’s eavesdropping on our conversation.”

“I really don’t think anyone cares about us or what we’re saying, but I don’t mind.” She smiled sliding in closer to the wall. Paula barely had room to pull out her files and voice recorder with him next to her, but she didn’t dare ask him to move. She welcomed his touch even if it was merely from sitting side by side.

Jackson knew that it would be more comfortable for him to sit across from Paula, but the sensations he got from just being in her presence were overwhelmingly addictive. He yearned to hear her voice. He anxiously awaited her touch.

She could lose her job if her firm found out. She could be disbarred. She pulled her foot out of his grasp as the weight of their actions became a heavy burden to bear.

“Okay, we have to stop for real this time,” Paula stated firmly. “Why don’t we talk about something else?” She closed all of her files to listen to Jackson.

“What do you want to know?” he asked her with his hands folded in front of him on top of the table.

“Tell me about yourself and how you got caught up in all of this. What’s your end game?” she wondered.
