Chapter 5
After a couple of days, Eliza met Justin for drinks again. This time, she was freer around him and she was able to tell him more about herself and actually bond with him. It was then that she found out what he was really about except for the surfing. As it turned out, she actually had the same interests he did and before he became the Wave Tide poster child, he had actually gone through a lot. He was brought up by a single parent who leaned heavily on substance abuse. It was actually a wonder that he never went that direction. Surfing became a way for him to escape his harsh reality and soon enough, he became the success he had always dreamed of. It was a beautiful story. Perhaps the most beautiful one she’d ever heard.
“Ever thought of getting your story out there?” she asked when he took her home later that evening and he shrugged.
“Not really.”
“Why not? You would really influence a lot of people.”
“You really think so?” he asked and she nodded.
“I am one hundred per cent sure.”
“You know what would make for an excellent chapter of that book?” he asked and she shook her head. “If you would stop making me jump through hoops just to get you to sit down to a meal with me.”
She smiled and nodded. “Fine.”
“Good. So how’s tomorrow?” he asked in a soft voice as he looked at her. He was standing dangerously close to her.
“What about tomorrow?” she asked.
“Dinner. Tomorrow.”
She did not want to know what to say. A yes was playing on her lips as well as her conscience but she was unsure of what she really wanted to say or do. Her subconscious mind was telling her that her best move was to decline and maybe get him to offer another day, keep up the playing hard to get game but her mouth and vocal chords seemed to have a mind of their own because for some reason, she found herself agreeing to the date. She wanted it to happen anyway and by the way Justin was acting, he was not going to back off. He was going to keep on asking.
“Sounds great,” she said and he grinned.
“Great. I’ll pick you up around eight?” he asked and she nodded.
“Sure,” she said. Her voice had become so low, she was almost whispering.
“Good. I’ll stay here until you walk into the building,” he said. “It’s the gentlemanly thing to do.”
She smiled and took a step forward narrowing the distance between them even more. She stood on tiptoe and gently kissed his cheek. But instead of moving back, she lingered on his cheek and Justin, almost as if he had read her mind, turned around to face her. He gently slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her even closer. She gasped when she felt herself against his well-toned body.
“Justin…” she started but she never got to finish what she wanted to say. He claimed her lips with his and she exhaled in his mouth. His mouth felt warm against her lips and the way he was kissing her, it was almost too passionate. It was not just a simple kiss. He was massaging her lips with his own and his grip around her shoulders was getting tighter, more possessive.
“I don’t want to let you go,” he said in a whisper when he finally pulled away from her.
“I don’t want you to either,” she whispered and he looked at her door over her shoulder.
She reached into her bag and pulled out her keys before she walked to the main door. She unlocked the door and looked at him. She did not need to say much. Everything she had to say was clear in the look she gave him. That she wanted him to follow her into the building. He locked the car and quickly followed her into the building. She didn’t need to ask him twice. He followed her up the stairs to the second floor where her apartment was.

Her heart was racing as she put her key in the lock. She did not realize it at the time but she was shaking. So much that simply unlocking the door was proving to be difficult. More difficult than she thought it possible. Justin reached for the keys and helped her open the door before he stretched his arm out.
“My lady,” he said, tipping an imaginary hat and she smiled.
“Thank you my lord,” she said as she walked in and he followed her into the apartment.
As soon as she closed the door, Justin pinned her against it with one arm over her head, pressed against the door.

“Then how?” he asked and just then, she realized that she did not have the right words to explain just what she had in mind. Her heart was racing as he held her against his body.
