But it was her decision, he reminded himself.
“I guess I could go again in a few minutes,” teased Harrison.
Leigh laughed, and rolled off and to her feet in a smooth sequence of motion that spoke of both grace and competence.
Harrison had often thought that Leigh could have been a dancer if she’d wanted to. Really, what had spurred her to choose law? Of course, there had been the Boston Legal reruns that Leigh was still addicted to, and for a while, Leigh had been obsessed with Ally McBeal.
Before he could wonder any more, Leigh was back, with dessert, and two spoons.

“I guess I’m glad you came over,” said Leigh with a grin. “So how’re Mom and Dad?”
Harrison shrugged.
“They’re good. You know how they are. They miss you. And, well, they told me that I should keep a better eye on you and keep you from working too hard. And wanted to know why I’m so happy. And… Well, you get the picture.”

Leigh lowered her spoon, a look of sheer alarm on her face. It was almost comical.
“You didn’t tell them… I mean… You didn’t… You wouldn’t!”
Harrison laughed.
“No, I didn’t. For one thing, I didn’t want to face the music alone. Only fair that you should be there to share that with me, don’t you think?”
Well, that was fair enough, she supposed, but Leigh really didn’t want to think about that at all.
