She knew something else, too, something she wasn’t ready to say. They had learned enough for one evening, what with the budding romance between Damon and Cali and the shared knowledge of the fact that Hudson was an alpha in his own right. She didn’t believe there was room for anything else this night, but when she was ready to tell, she knew both of her men would be over the moon. What she and Levi had just done, they had made a baby. There was a baby that was growing inside of her already, the beginning of the prophecy fulfilled.

She would spend the rest of that evening with Hudson, making love to him until the morning light began to stream through his window. That was what their days became, adventure and s*x and a perfectly symmetrical union between the three of them that was better than anything any of them could have hoped for. And there was a baby. As it turned out, Levi’s parents got exactly what they wanted as well. They got a fat, wonderfully healthy baby boy and Maggie knew when she looked at him for the very first time that he was to be the first of many.

She had no proof of the fact that she and her two lovers were the living embodiment of the legend of old. She had no proof but she, at least, didn’t need it. She could feel it in her bones. She could see in her mind’s eye the babies that would come to her and the men she loved; she could see the children that would come to her children and their children after them.

She could see a great resurgence as the dragon people took ownership of their heritage once again. This was her purpose fulfilled and she knew that there was no other to live a life that was authentic. She had gotten her happy ending, and although it did not look the way another person might have wished it to, she could not imagine it being anything greater.

The end.
