Chapter 6

Seathan led Addie to their suite of rooms, explaining, “The rooms are pretty masculine. Anything you want to change, we can.”

Addie nodded and asked, “How many rooms are there?”

He produced a key from his pocket. “We have a living room and a bedroom, both sizable enough to cut in half with a wall and make more rooms. A bathroom the size of a small house with a bathtub the size of a small pool.”

“Nice,” Addie complimented. “I can’t wait to use the bathtub.” She leaned against him as he pushed the door open. “One of my guilty pleasures.”

“Nothing guilty about that,” Seathan said as they stepped inside.

His description of its size had been accurate. The living room was massive and boasted large, incredibly masculine leather furniture. The couch, love seat, and two oversized chairs looked like if she sat in them she’d sink and need help getting out. Someone, Addie guessed his mother or perhaps a decorator, had added accent pillows of various colors to liven up the dark chocolate of the furniture. An ottoman sat in the center on a beautiful throw rug in front of a fire place Addie was sure she could stand in, should she choose to do so. Above the fire place was a panel that almost certainly hid a television from sight.

To the left was a desk, dark wood and covered in the accoutrement of an office. The large chair would easily fit Seathan’s large frame, and she could picture him working there at night. A bay window with a window seat was directly behind the desk and would offer a stunning view of the kingdom during the day. A mini-fridge and microwave were probably hidden in the cabinets near the desk; that’s what her father had done in the office in her parents’ suite.

“It suits you,” Addie said, looking at her husband.

“I hope that’s a compliment,” Seathan teased her.

She giggled. “It is. I want to see the rest.”

“Of course,” Seathan responded, taking her hand. “If you want to change anything, you can. My mother plans to renovate a suite on this floor that will be ours. The two of you will probably start on it right away.”

“We won’t be sharing rooms?” Addie was surprised by this. It was an antiquated practice for the upper class husband and wife to have separate rooms. Her parents had always stayed in the same rooms. They each had offices that were strictly theirs, but they’d slept in the same room and had guests in the shared suite.

“Yes, we’ll be sharing rooms,” he replied, a little surprised by her question. “I just thought you’d like a place to work that is just yours.”

Addie sighed in relief. “Are they close enough that we could combine the rooms and create a large living space rather than two separate spaces?”

Seathan smiled. “I like that idea. We can talk to a contractor tomorrow.” He opened a door to the right of the fire place and gestured her inside. “This is our bedroom.”

The bedroom was also rather masculine, but Addie didn’t mind. The furniture was dark wood polished to gleaming, and the spacious room was dominated by the bed. A hulking mass, it was larger than any bed she’d ever seen. The bed needed steps to get up on it because the mattresses were so thick and the base was so high, at least three feet. The bed, mahogany if Addie was any judge, had four thick columns at the corners with a headboard as tall as Seathan covered with leather stretched tautly. Mounds of pillows were heaped at the headboard, and the comforter was thick and the color of tree leaves. Addie lifted it; the sheets were perfectly matched and softer than a baby’s skin.

“Wow,” Addie breathed, causing Seathan to grin.

He wrapped his arms around her from behind and whispered in her ear, “I’d like to christen this bed with you. No other woman has slept on it.”
