Chapter 4
Seathan rose at seven and told Addie he was going down to make sure all the arrangements had been made for their departure. He made her promise to lay in bed for at least another hour, kissed her on the lips, and left the room quietly.
Addie and Seathan would be joining the king and queen for breakfast the next morning at nine so they would be ready to leave by eleven. Addie felt somewhat more content with this decision that had been forced on her; her new husband had pleased her so well she was more than a little sore that morning. She called Jeanne and Poppy to come to her apartment to make sure all of her things were packed and to make sure they were ready to go as well. When she told them about her soreness, Jeanne giggled.
“If you have time, a warm bath will soothe the muscles and help the soreness,” Jeanne told her with a mischievous grin. “How was it last night?”
Addie blushed violently. “Jeanne! I don’t kiss and tell!”
“You’ve never had anything to tell, so how do you know you don’t kiss and tell,” Poppy inserted with an eyebrow wiggle. The three shared a laugh. “I’ll draw a bath and you can sit for just a few minutes while you tell us a few details. Everything is packed and ready, so while you’re bathing I’ll get some guys up here to take your things over to the plane.”
“Thanks so much, Poppy,” Addie murmured, her nerves lighting up again. She glanced at Jeanne as she followed Poppy into the bathroom. “And by the way, it was the most amazing thing I’ve ever done!” She disappeared through the door.
Jeanne squealed and raced after them into the bathroom with its oversized bathtub. “You can NOT just say it was amazing! That’s cruel!”
Poppy nodded her head as she turned on the water and checked the temperature. She wiggled her fingers over the water, and a lovely pink foam began to grow in the water. “This will get rid of the soreness. Now, come on, Addie. Jeanne and I have a little more experience than you, but we’ve only been with our own kind. You got to taste something new.”
Jeanne laughed at her wording. “Something new. That’s funny!”
“I have to respect my husband’s privacy,” she teased. She leaned toward them and whispered, “But I will tell you this. I’ve seen human pe*ises before, and they’ve got nothing on the dragon king!” The women squealed in delight, laughing uproariously at her description.
“Get into that tub,” Poppy ordered, still laughing. “So did you have an org*sm?”
“Yes! I’ve never felt anything like it in my life!” Addie gushed.
“They are pretty amazing, if the man you’re with knows how to do it,” Jeanne agreed. She handed Addie a washcloth as they talked.
“This is the last thing I’m going to tell you, so don’t ask,” Addie began.
Poppy interrupted by pointing a finger at her. “You mean it’s the last thing you’re going to tell us today.”
Addie smirked. “We’ll see. Anyway, you’ll love this.”
“Well, spill it!” Jeanne exclaimed.
“I had three org*sms!” The other two gasped in surprise.
“I’ve never done that in one session! How did he do it?”
“Nope, that was the last thing I was telling you,” Addie giggled. Her friends groaned in response.
“Well, come on. You need to get moving before your father thinks you’ve gone out the window rather than speak to him.”
“He’ll be lucky if I speak to him at breakfast,” Addie mumbled, her mood plummeting. Even though she was sure she and Seathan would have a lovely relationship, if not true love, then at least a friendship. But that didn’t mean she was going to forgive her father for stripping her of all choice. Her thoughts were still that she would never visit again after she left today. A pang of sadness at the idea that she’d never see her homeland again, but that was the choice she’d made.
She slipped into the tub and felt the soreness begin to ease almost immediately. She sighed as the nearly scalding water did its job, silently thanking Jeanne, who had left the bathroom to direct the baggage handling. She listened to her, bossing the men around, and giggled. Again, she thanked the gods that she and Poppy were both going with her to Wyvern. She couldn’t live without them.

King George and Queen Claire waited downstairs in the kitchens for Seathan and Addie. Seathan had come back upstairs to get her so they could walk down together.
“Are you ready?” Seathan asked after a brief kiss on the lips.
Addie smiled at him and kissed him again, for just a little longer. “I’m as ready as I’m ever going to be.”
They walked to the elevator, hand in hand, with Poppy and Jeanne behind them. They rode down together, and Addie’s friends explained they would be waiting in the front hall for them at eleven. Poppy and Jeanne went in one direction to say good bye to their other friends while Addie and Seathan turned the other way, headed for the kitchen.
“Mom and Dad chose the kitchen because it’s less formal,” Addie commented as they walked.
“I’m glad they did,” Seathan said. “I’m not a big fan of formal dining at all, especially for breakfast.”
“Me either,” Addie replied. She pushed the door to the kitchen open, and her parents stood to greet them.
“Good morning!” George boomed, coming forward to kiss his daughter and shake his son-in-law’s hand. Addie stiffened in his embrace and did not return it. He looked into her eyes and could still see the anger residing there. She embraced her mother enthusiastically, moving away from the men, chatting happily with her as if nothing had changed. That hurt George more than if she’d called him names.
Seathan had watched the exchange, had seen the look that crossed George’s face when Addie had moved to her mother with so much happiness after such a sour greeting for her father. George rearranged his expression before speaking to Seathan.
“Good morning, Seathan,” George said with a smile as he pumped his hand genially. “I hope everything is well this morning.”
“Everything is fantastic, George,” Seathan answered. “The plane is ready, the bags are packed, and Addie is as ready to go as she’ll ever be.”
George glanced at his daughter. “Yes.” He turned back to Seathan and smiled sadly. “Is she still angry with me?”

Seathan shrugged. “We haven’t talked about that. I don’t know exactly what she’s feeling about all this.”
George nodded and changed the subject. “Are you hungry?”
Seathan returned the smile. “Starved.” He put the relationship of his wife and father-in-law in the back of his mind to think about later. He didn’t want Addie’s anger to ruin her relationship forever with her father; hopefully, she would listen to him about that eventually and find a way to forgive her father.
Breakfast was bountiful and tasty, with eggs cooked two different ways, three meats, potatoes, various fruits and juices as well as coffee and water. They ate heartily, chatting about nonessential topics.
Addie had a short, whispered conversation with Claire about her evening with Seathan, leaving out specific details but telling her enough to know that Addie had loved it. Claire prayed silently to the gods that her daughter would fall in love with this handsome man at her table. Maybe if she loves him, she’ll be able to forgive her father, Claire thought hopefully as they finished their meal.
