The Billionaire’s Secret Relationship

“I heard that he was going to pass you onto my employee, and that made something snap. I confronted him, and after giving him a few choice words we had a long, deep discussion.”

Gregory shifted Diane off him and onto the bed, rolling onto his side and putting an arm around her waist. He kissed her forehead. “It took us some time before his hostility was completely gone, but we came to an agreement.”

“What agreement? I have no idea what’s going on now. Father actually agreed to us getting married?”

“Well, he wants the best for you, but he went about it in the wrong way. I wasn’t about to let you get married to someone I know you don’t like. You will never be happy, and he’ll realize that eventually.”

Diane let these words sink in. She was still struggling with the fact that Gilbert had given in and agreed to their marriage. All before she had said yes.

Men. They were all Neanderthals in the end.

“So…what does that mean?”

“Your dad said he would allow us to get married on the condition that I keep a smile on your face every day,” Gregory rested his hand on her belly, “and I made sure that his grandchild is also smiling.”

“What?” Diane stared. “Did you say, grandchild?”

“Well, you’re pregnant, aren’t you? Maggie told me.”

“I am, but…I wanted to find a way to tell you.”

“Maggie did that for you,” Gregory kissed her softly, “I know we’ve not had the most orthodox of relationships, but we shouldn’t have to hide it anymore. Your father has given his blessing, and I intend to follow through on my side of the promise.”

“But I haven’t said yes yet,” Diane pointed out. “You can’t force me into marriage without my approval.”

“I know that, but I thought it was a given.” Gregory paused. “Isn’t it?”

He looked so hopeful that Diane had to laugh. She snuggled in close and kissed him.

“I’ll give you my answer…” she said between kisses. “If you can keep me happy for the rest of the night. Think you can manage that?”

“I’m sure I can do that.” Gregory rolled her onto her back with a grin. “Just as long as I hear those three words first.”

“Which ones?”

“You know which ones I mean.”

Diane did. She touched his face, brushing her fingers across his stubble.

“I love you.”

“Then I’ll do whatever you want.” Gregory started kissing down her body. “You’ll be smiling all night once I’m done with you.”

With the way her body was reacting to his touch, Diane didn’t doubt that.

The end.
