“So,” Gregory said as he wandered into the room, sauntering like a wild animal on the prowl. “What was it you wanted to talk to me about?”
“Are you doing that deliberately?”
“Doing what?”
“Wearing just a towel.”
Gregory grinned.
“Well, it is my home. I can wear what I want.”
“I don’t think that’s appropriate when you have a guest.”
“I know,” Gregory leaned a hip against the end of the couch and folded his arms, “I’ll get changed once you tell me why you’re here.”
“That’s not helpful.”
“It wasn’t meant to be.”
He was toying with her, Diane could tell. And she had to admit that she liked it. The teasing was…it was fun. She couldn’t remember anyone else, other than Maggie, who teased her like this. Then again, Maggie had never talked to her like this, nor had she lounged about in just a towel.
Gregory was different. Very different.
“Diane?” He prompted. “You came here to talk to me. Then talk.”
“I…, I….”
It was really hard to get the words out. All Diane could think about was reaching out and touching him, to see if he was as solid as he looked. If he was as warm. She could spend hours exploring his body and still find something different.
This wasn’t going to work. Diane knew she was going to have to take the plunge. Standing up, she went over to Gregory, trying to keep hold of her courage.
She had never been this bold before, and Diane hoped she wasn’t going to get it wrong.
Gregory frowned, but he didn’t move.
“Diane?”
Diane ignored him. She was more focused on his body. Reaching out, her hand trembling, she brushed her fingers along his stomach.
Gregory tensed.
“Diane, what are you doing?”
“I had to see what you felt like,” Diane didn’t look up as she traced the ridges in his abs, “I’ve never touched a man like that before.”
“I’m flattered, but…what is this about?” Gregory cleared his throat. “Not that I’m complaining, of course, but…?”
He broke off abruptly as Diane pressed a kiss to the center of his chest. She had no idea where the bravery was coming from, but she liked it a little. And she liked the taste of Gregory against her tongue.
Where was this coming from? Something about his current state was making her bold. Diane should have been shocked and backed away.
But she couldn’t. Gregory was like an addiction.
“Erm, Diane?” Gregory’s voice was coming out in gasps as Diane grew more confident and pressed her hands against his stomach. “Where’s this coming from?”
“I’m not sure. You tell me.” Diane glanced up at him. “I’ve got an urge to be…brave. This isn’t something I normally do.”
“Should I be flattered?”
“I think you should,” Diane ran her hands over his belly, careful not to go any lower, “I don’t go around and do this to other people, you know.”
“I’m glad about that,” Gregory’s breath hitched, “as I said, I’m not complaining, but what’s with the change of heart? I’m not sure I understand what’s going on.”
Diane took a deep breath and finally looked him in the eye.
“I’m sheltered. You know that, and it’s painfully clear to me. I’ve always followed what our church says, and I’ve never gone outside of it. That includes…well, having intercourse.”
“You mean you’re still a virgin?”
Diane wished she didn’t blush at that. She glanced away and concentrated on where her hands were going on his body. He felt really warm.
“Would you show me, Gregory? What it’s like, I mean?”
“You want…you want me to…?”
“To show me what it’s like to be with a man. Yes, I do.” Diane trailed her fingers up his body, running them along his collarbone. “But with one condition. This must be a secret. Nobody else finds out about this. I’m sure Clint will have an inkling….”
“He won’t say a word. You can trust him.”
“But can I trust you to keep it a secret?”
For a second, Gregory didn’t say anything. Then his arms were around her, hauling her up against his chest. Diane gasped when she felt something hard prodding her in the stomach. Instead of being shocked and repulsed, it left her feeling heat between her legs. She never thought she was such a wanton.
“Oh, I can keep this a secret,” Gregory growled, his hands now in her hair. “Trust me.”
If his kiss had been a flame on the evening of the date, it was like a full-blown fire now. Diane felt like she was drowning in his embrace, Gregory taking charge of the kiss until Diane was shaking. She wanted more, so much more.
She had to be going to hell for this. And Diane just didn’t care.
She was aware of the two of them moving, and then her legs knocked into something. Diane squeaked as they started to fall, but Gregory lowered her gently down onto the couch.
His kisses were still fiery, his hands going everywhere on her body as he finally explored. She should have been shocked at the way she reacted to his touch, how his fingers seemed to be creating magic over her body. Instead, it felt incredible.
And Diane didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty.
*****
Gregory had to be in heaven. Diane had not just started touching him like he was a delicacy she wanted to devour him. Surely, she was still across the room, and this was happening in his mind. But no. Diane was in his arms, and she was responding to his kisses with a fervor that he didn’t think she possessed, her hands all over him.
This was real. Gregory didn’t want to let this go.
His hands slid under her sweater, grazing against her bare, warm skin. Diane was startled, but she didn’t pull away. Gregory kept his exploration slow, tracing patterns on her sides and belly as he shifted off her and onto the couch.
