She flung herself out of Chris’s space, thereby falling off the seat before scrambling up off the floor, to apologize profusely.

”Gawd I’m so clumsy and stupid. Sorry about this I’m just…” Chris was staring at her, eyes unblinking and she could feel her limbs becoming more uncoordinated as the minutes passed.

“Say something,” she said staring back at him.

“Umm,” he said with a shrug and a smile. “We still had another two movies to watch,” Chris told her, borrowing Robyn’ mannerism of tilting her head. Robyn tried to look anywhere but Chris’s eyes.

“This date isn’t over?” Robyn whispered, still glowing bronze from embarrassment. She saw Chris co*k an eyebrow at her.

“You’re over-thinking again, Robyn,” he told her, as he pulled her back to the seat. But Robyn ended up stumbling and, as if the situation couldn’t get any more awkward, she fell on to Chris’s lap. Robyn felt Chris freeze underneath her, making Robyn think maybe Chris wasn’t as cool with Robyn kissing him as he originally let off. The credits had long since started rolling for the movie and Robyn started to wriggle to get off Chris so he could change the movie, but Chris tightened his grip on Robyn.

“Chris?” Robyn whispered.

“You always think too much, Robyn,” he said, rephrasing his earlier statement, his voice slightly breathy. He looked to her, his eyes flicked to Robyn’s lips and took in a sharp breath. “Too much…” He mumbled more to himself than anyone else. Robyn’s breathing had begun to quicken and she could feel the shallow rise and fall of Chris’s chest.

“Always thinking…” Chris brought his eyes up to Robyn’s and stared at her for a full second before he closed the gap between them and pushed his lips on Robyn’s, softly, sweetly. Robyn let out a quiet gasp, which Chris quickly took advantage of by sliding his tongue into Robyn’ mouth.

Robyn felt herself sliding gently off Chris’s lap and then pushed back on to the seat by Chris’s hands on her shoulders. Robyn put up no resistance, and even opened her legs to accommodate Chris, allowing him to slide between them. Robyn’s hand moved of its own accord, wrapping itself into Chris’s curly afro, heating up the kiss and causing him to moan quietly. Chris rested his hands on Robyn’ hips, sliding just underneath her sweater, rubbing the skin there and groaning into her mouth. He plundered into her mouth, licking at the roof and polishing her tonsils with intent like he planned on moving in. Robyn suddenly pulled away from Chris, looking at him curiously, confused as to what was going on.

“I… Um… What exactly is going on here?” Robyn asked, still stuck under Chris, who raised his eyebrow.

“Well, I’m not sure about you, but I thought we were making out,” Chris replied, smiling a little bit when Robyn smacked his arm.

“I know that, chuckles, I meant what is this; foreplay? New stage in our relationship? What?” Chris looked nonplussed at her question. Possibly he hadn’t thought that far ahead.

“I like you.” He said, squinting at her sheepishly. “I thought you liked me…” He was mumbling now and Robyn could feel the heat of his face on her neck. “No I know you like me; and we’re married. If we can take this relationship to the next step I don’t see what we’re waiting for; let’s make this a real marriage.…” He rambled into Robyn’s neck.

Robyn didn’t reply, but instead, started giggling. Chris sat up looking outraged and poked Robyn, who just giggled even harder. “Hey! I don’t seem to recall you pushing me away!” Chris muttered defensively, which just made Robyn laugh harder, while she pulled herself up into the sitting position.

“Oh Chris! Don’t you get it? I’ve liked you since the day I walked in your door!” Robyn laughed. Chris looked at her incredulously.

“No? Jesus Robyn… Why didn’t you tell me?” Chris asked, a smile making its way on to his face.

“Well, I thought you’d laugh at me and not want to continue with the arrangement if it got too complicated…” Now that she said it out loud it sounded embarrassing and childish.

“Now why would I do that?” Chris poked her, shaking his head. “You’re the perfect mate Robyn, I wouldn’t turn away from you no matter what,” he told her firmly.

“What if we give… “us” a go and we break-up, what then?” Robyn demanded, sounds slightly desperate. “Would you turn away then?” Chris pulled a weird face that Robyn didn’t quite understand, but it looked like a cross between happiness, humor and confusion.

“Why, Robyn Andrews, are you saying you want to give us a chance?” His voice was teasing, but there was an underlying tone of nervousness. Robyn ducked her head blushing.

“I might be saying that if you’re saying that…” Robyn told him, looking up at him through her eyelashes. Chris breathed a sigh of relief.

“In that case, I wouldn’t turn away from you unless you wanted me too. I’d say we gave it a fair go and it didn’t work, but at least we’d both be able to move on,” Chris shrugged at her. “So… are you willing to give this a go?” Robyn worried her bottom lip between her teeth for a moment, before smiling slightly.

“I am if you are…” she whispered.

“Oh you know I am,” Chris pulled Robyn into a hug and kissed her head softly. Robyn pulled away, smirking at him.

“Ask me,” she told Chris, who tilted his head, looking baffled, “ask me to be your…whatever,” Robyn poked him in the stomach when he groaned loudly.

“Do I have to?” he moaned, sounding very much like a whiny teenager.

“If you want a piece of this fine ass,” Robyn grinned, “you’re gunna have to ask for it properly.” Chris fell backward and groaned loudly, before sitting back up and looking at Robyn.

“Fine! Fine…” Chris lowered his eyes and took a melodramatic deep breath, before glancing up at Robyn shyly, nibble his bottom lip. “Um… Robyn,” he mumbled, all faux bashfulness and shyness, “would you, um… would you like to be my girlfriend whose already my wife?” He was glancing up at Robyn doing a great job at looking nervous for Robyn’s answer, and yeah, Chris was a great actor.

Robyn ummm’d and ahhhh’d for a good minute until she looked at Chris with a hundred-watt grin, “Of course I would, Chris!” She pounced on him, wrapping her arms around Chris’s shoulders, who in return, wrapped his arms around Robyn’s waist. Chris pulled away, chuckling at her.
