No! It wasn’t something he had the constitution to repeat anytime soon.
“Look, I know what you’re thinking right now, and this has nothing to do with the Cabo trip,” Jason said in reassurance and took his shot of whisky. “This would be a pleasant surprise and I’m sure you’d love it.”
Zack shook his head in refusal. “I know your heart is in the right place, but I don’t think I can take any of your plans right now. Besides, I’m busy on the project you saw me reviewing at the office. I’d have to decline, sorry.”
Justin appeared smug as he signaled the bartender for another round of shots. “You can’t decline this one, brother,” he said and settled into the backrest of the stool.
“I just did.”
“You owe me, and I’m collecting by taking you on this weekend trip. Saturday and Sunday in Kentucky and you’re back to your boring job on Monday.”
“Whatever the hell are we going to do in Kentucky?” Zack asked, feeling miffed and slightly confused at the same time. His brother’s scenes ranged from Miami, Hollywood and Vegas to Cancun, Fiji and Switzerland.
There were no sandy beaches or popular resorts teeming with smoking hot women, the kinds of ladies he was always surrounded with.
“It’s a surprise, dear brother,” Justin replied, his grin looking, suspect. “Trust me, it would blow your mind. I think it’s something you need right now, anyway. You look so stressed.”

Zack did not doubt that whatever his brother was planning would shock and blow his mind but he didn’t think he needed that right now, no matter how stressed he appeared.
Justin was the proverbial party boy who knew the best places around the country and had an endless string of connections. He was lively and entertaining and everyone wanted him in their clique.
Zack was so sure he didn’t have boredom in his dictionary or had a clue what the word meant. Unlike his boring, old ass who had a minuscule circle, and still kept friends from middle and high school.
Downing the remainder of his whisky, he prayed whatever Justin was planning didn’t turn out to be crazier than he feared or went totally out of hand. With his brother, the former had a ninety percent chance of happening, while the latter followed closely behind.
He couldn’t back out now because he indeed owed the scapegrace a favor for saving him from a gold-digging, crazy escort he’d made the mistake of engaging with recently. He hated owing favors, and couldn’t wait to return the status quo of keeping his life drama-free, away from his brother or anyone else’s machinations and interruption.
