“It’s okay, bud, no worries, take all the time you need in the world,” Isaac said, patting Jazmyn on her soldier.
“Thanks, you guys are the best.” She said with a smile on her face.
Jazmyn started thinking about her life, how things are always good at first until they go bad, she thought about all the things that had happened to her since a kid.
“What is the problem with me, why can’t I just enjoy great things for long, do I deserve this? I’m a good person and good things should happen to good people.”
She had already concluded that her relationship with Zack, was the turn-around she was looking for. Before she knew it, a drop of tears had escaped her eyes.
Few minutes after the guys left, still in deep thought, Jazmyn heard a familiar voice behind her that brought her back to life, calling her name with footsteps approaching her.
“Jazmyn,” she couldn’t mistake the voice for another’s, she knew exactly who was calling her name and turned back. Her emotions, written all over her face.
“Zack, what are you doing here,” she said, softly.
“I was invited to this event and I didn’t even know I’d find you here”
“No, no, I mean what are you doing here, right here?”
“I’m here to see you, Jazmyn,” he replied in his semi baritone voice.
She was speechless, she could find words to say, she wanted to say something but she couldn’t locate the right words.
Jazmyn still kept in contact with Justin, even though she couldn’t reach Zack, it was Justin that explained how Zack’s mother threatened to cut him out of the family because Jazmyn was a bad figure for their social status.
Even though she could only imagine the type of position that must put Zack in, she just couldn’t put together why his mother would be that way and although she wasn’t that mad at Zack’s decision, she felt it was his fault for allowing him to be treated that way.
“Can we talk somewhere else?”
“Yes, of course,” she said and as she tried to conceal her emotions.
They left the backstage together and headed outside, Zack started, “I don’t believe in fate or soulmate, but I think there is a reason why we saw each other here today and I think we should give that reason a chance.”
Jazmyn said nothing in return but just kept walking, Zack continued “I know I acted stupid and rash when I started withdrawing myself from this relationship, I should have explained myself and the whole situation.”
“Yeah, at least we both agree on something,” Jazmyn replied.
“What is that?”
“That you acted like an ass,” Zack chuckled and nodded in semi agreement.
Jazmyn could not deny the fact that she was still in love with Zack, but the thought of history repeating itself was one of the reasons she was careful, she didn’t want to rush into anything.
“What are you trying to get at?” Jazmyn asked gazing at Zack’s eyes.
“I’m saying I feel like sh*t for what I did to you. I just allowed my mom to control my life as she has always done, and in that process, I hurt you so much and I was also hurting Jaz.
I missed you so much it hurts like hell and I made a decision when I saw you singing on that stage, that who cares what my mom thinks, it’s my life and I deserve to live like I want in as much as I get to do what makes me happy.
I’m happy with you Jazmyn, you are my happiness, the light in my world and I love you so much it’s freaking me out. But I’m not going to chicken out again I’m going to prove my love to you for the rest of my life.
I love you. I’m ready to sacrifice everything to be with you, I have always enjoyed the time we spent together, being with you makes me incredibly happy and I’m not sure if I want anybody to take away that happiness, not even my mother,” he halted and looked at trying to see if Jazmyn even heard a word he said.
“How do I know that you are not just saying this to butter me up,” she said, trying hard not to be seduced by Zack’s words.
“C’mon Jaz, give me a chance to prove my love.”
She didn’t say anything again that night, until they go to her house, “Thanks for dropping me off. Do you want to come inside?”
“Sure of course,” Zack answered with dithering.
“Okay come on in and close the door behind your back.”

Nothing had changed much in the living room other than the fact that there were more art collections more than the other times he had been in the apartment.
Jazmyn came back, carrying a bottle of Brunello in her hands, accompanied by two wine glasses. “Here,” she said as she handed over the first cup she had filled up to half with red wine, then she poured another one for herself.
They sat down and continued their conversation, Jazmyn finally decided to open up, “Zack” calling him so that his attention would be directed towards her.
“I feel pretty much the same way about you, I love you more than you can imagine and I know that’s not a secret.” Jazmyn motioned. “I was so hurt and devastated when you suddenly start to distance yourself from me without giving me a logical explanation. And I thought that maybe that’s my fate that I don’t deserve to be happy in this life.”
“No Jaz, don’t say that again, you deserve to be happy and I’m sorry I made you feel like that. Please forgive me, sweetheart.”
