“You got a backstage pass?” She said. Jazmyn looked down at Zack’s hand and saw the pass on his left hand.

“Yes dear, now you can get the autograph you wanted.”

They both raced backstage, “Let’s move fast, so they won’t leave.”

Zack led Jazmyn towards the back of the stage, and she was buzzing with bliss as she got the autograph and pictures with the band members. She was giggling on her way outside, carrying the guitar, signed by every band member.

She felt lucky to have Zack in times like this, and she would never have thought that someday she would be getting an autograph, let alone a picture from her favorite band. Zack knew how important all these meant to Jazmyn, and he’d let her enjoy every teeny tiny bit of the moment to the fullest.

“Do you want to get something to eat? I’m starving,” Zack stated.

“I’m pretty full from these evening’s events, but I guess we can still get something” you could still notice her tone was filled with delight.

They pulled up at a restaurant that was not far from the theatre where the concert was held, and they both ordered what they wanted; he couldn’t eat right there since what Jasmine ordered was a takeout, he wouldn’t want to be eating, and while Jazmyn was waiting for him, he also had his food packed as takeout too.

While in the car, Jazmyn took a look at her phone just to find out that she had missed Brianna’s calls. Knowing Brianna, Jazmyn knew she would be calling to ask how her date went with Zack.

Taking her concentration off the phone, she decided to show gratitude to Zack for the night.

“Thank you for tonight Zack, I really had a blast,” she said, looking into Zack’s eyes. His eyes were fixed on the road.

“You’re welcome, I’m happy you liked it, and thanks to some help from your friends in your band, I was able to pull this off,” he said, not taking his eyes off the road.

“I knew it! Cos I can’t remember discussing my favorite band with you”.

“Well, I did my homework,” he smiled widely.

“That was so thoughtful of you.”

She took her phone out and tried to reply to some messages on her phone, and she was about to text Brianna when she looked up and noticed that they were already at her house. Since they hadn’t eaten their food, Jazmyn motioned would Zack like to come in.

“Do you want to come in?” She asked, “you know that food is going to be cold before you return to your house, and I don’t want you to starve to death,” she said jokingly.

“Alright then if you insist,” he said as he prepared to descend from his car; carrying his takeout in his left hand, he rushed to the passenger side and opened the door.

Walking into Jazmyn’s apartment, she switched on the lights. “Make yourself comfortable, I’ll be right back,” she said as she found her way to her bedroom with Bishop at her back.

The energetic fawn-colored teddy bear canine snorted happily and bounded forward, ready to welcome Jazmyn, and sat down quietly until she stopped what she was doing, and bent down to pat the dog.

Jazmyn beckoned to Bishop and presented his food inside the dog food plate before she headed towards where Zack sat.

Zack tried to find a seat but then got up a few seconds later, as he tries to look at the art collection that was hung up on her walls.

“You haven’t opened your food yet,” Jazmyn commented as she stepped out of the room, Bishop still following her.

“Yeah, I didn’t want to eat without you.”

“That’s sweet, what would you like to drink” as she carried her food in, trying to open it.

“Water is fine.”

“Are you sure? I have a red Italian wine to complement the food we want to eat,” she replied as she headed for the refrigerator.

“Not a bad idea, wine won’t hurt,” he said, with the mind that wine would help him set the mood. Zack knew him entering Jazmyn’s house again wouldn’t end without something fascinating happening, so he had no issue with Jazmyn bringing the red wine.

“Are you free tomorrow?” Zack asked. He stretched his hands forth to lift up his cup filled to the half with wine.

“I wish, but the bi-monthly picnic at the foster center where Brianna and I volunteer is tomorrow.”

“I think you should come too; it will be fun,” she added as they made eye contact.

Her body squirmed just as a little as her muscles relaxed. There is something about that gaze of his that she will never find in another man.

“Oh yeah, I’ll think about it, if nothing comes up, I should be there,” he replied, looking almost disinterested.

“I’ll be expecting you,” she told Zack as she resumed clearing the table but leaving the bottle of wine. Zack returned to the living room.

Getting back to the living room, she sat down, tucked into Zack’s arms. There was a brief silence, Jazmyn who was getting comfy in his arms, asked, “would you like me to switch on the TV?”

“I think there are much more interesting things we can do, other than watching some boring-ass programs.”

“Really?” She said sarcastically, “you have anything in mind.”

“Yes, I actually do have something in mind.”

“What is it?” She asked, exchanging eye contact once again.

“This…” Zack said as he leaned forward to kiss her.

Zack gave her a short kiss on the lips before gazing up at her with an intense look and an emotion that Jazmyn wasn’t familiar with.

At times like this, his eyes were so different, softer than she knew eyes could be. The workaholic man with solid principles man was gone, and instead, it is the eyes of the one man who had dropped his guard and was in the moment.
