Zack led her upstairs to the VIP section and sat her down in a booth. They could still see what’s going on in the club, but their area was pretty private, and nobody could just come up there. He summoned the first waiter he saw to their table.
“What would you like to drink?” He asked
Jazmyn, still looking around the club, answered
“Strawberry Daiquiri, please.”
Noticing the smile on Zack’s face, Jazmyn queried him, “What?”
“I just thought you might be more into stronger drinks like vodka, whiskey, scotch, considering that fact that you like to try wild stuff you know.”
“Just because I enjoy adventure doesn’t mean I’m still not a woman,” she said, looking straight into Zack’s eyes. That was the first time Jazmyn had to look into Zack’s eye that evening since he picked her up; she felt chills running through her body.
Zack nodded in agreement, “I guess.”
They got to know each other better through drinks. They were talking about anything and everything, so engrossed in their conversations that they were not conscious of the time.
“You know I was actually optimistic about you calling me when you promised,” Jazmyn mentioned as she took a sip out of her Strawberry Daiquiri. She still had some scars from her past relationship with Matt, which usually caused her to be less open-minded.
She didn’t want history to repeat itself. She was pretty cautious about letting her guard down, especially when it comes to relationship matters.
“I’m really sorry about the whole situation, and you know I’m trying to make it up to you,” Zack said with his face seeming like he was about to shed a tear.
“I’ll be right back, going to the ladies room.”
Looking at the mirror in the ladies’ room, Jazmyn was thinking: The past is in the past, we can’t do anything about the past, but we can change the future by taking the right step right now. Stop focusing on the history and move on; you can do this.
She was trying to be her own adviser. She tried to retouch her makeup before stepping out of the ladies room.
Jazmyn reached her VIP space, where they sat, feeling unsettle and uncomfortable. “I think we should leave.” She said in a shaky voice.
Zack, expecting her to return so they could pick up their conversation from where they stopped, looked at her and asked, “Why? Why do you think we should leave this place?”
He had so many questions, but all that came out of her mouth was, “I don’t know, I just think we should leave,” she replied, picking up her purse and getting ready to leave.
Zack was still sitting at the table, confused about the whole situation. “Are you saying you want to go home or what?
“Anywhere but here is fine.”
“At least tell me why.”
“I’ll tell you everything, let’s just get the hell out of this place first.”
Zack paid the bill using his American Express credit card and also tipped the waiter. They left the club in a hurry as if they were pursued out of there, and Zack pitched Miguel a fifty-dollar bill as he usually did anytime he came to the club.
They entered the car and left.
There was silence in the car for about 5 minutes since the drive started before Zack decided to break the silence between them trying to stay calm. “Do you care to explain the reason why we had to cut our fun time short and rush the fu*k out like we were ejected from the club?”
Jazmyn tried to explain how she saw Matt on her way back from the ladies’ room.
“Who is Matt?” Zack asked.
“My Ex,” Jazmyn replied him.
“He was my last boyfriend, we had something, at least I thought we did until things started to change, he was less concerned about me and paid less attention to the relationship.
To cut it short, I thought we had something special but we wanted different things from the relationship. He was not ready for commitment and because of that, it was easy for him to cheat on me in the relationship.
Though it’s been three years now, and we haven’t talked since then, and I don’t think I’m ready to face him yet. There is probably nothing to talk about or catch up on anyway. All I know is that I’ll want to kick him in his face when I see him.”
“Wow, that’s pretty…”
“I know right,” cutting Zack short. “Sorry that we had to talk about this tonight,” Jazmyn added.
“I don’t mind talking about it, I mean it’s his loss, anyone will be lucky to have you by his side,” he replied, taking his eyes off the road and looking straight into Jazmyn’s eyes.
“I’m sorry, I ruined this night fun for us.”
“Don’t worry about it,” patting Jazmyn in her hands.
They were in comfortable silence as Zack drove her home.
“I had fun tonight, thanks for doing this with me tonight,” Zack told Jazmyn when he walked her to her door.
“Yeah, it was fun until the whole Matt thing ruined it?”
“Tonight, wasn’t a total burst at least I got to spend time with you,” Zack said with a dashing smile that made a tinge of red painting on Jazmyn cheeks.
“Alright then, if you say so. Umm… goodnight?”
“Yeah goodnight”
As Jazmyn turned around to leave, she had the thought in her mind that she would love to go out with Zack another time as a valid date, and this time hopefully, there won’t be anything to ruining it.
It was at this moment that she heard Zack call her name. Turning back, Jazmyn asked, “Oh did you forget something?”
“Yes, I did actually”
“Really, what is it?” She inquired with all curiosity
“We should do this another time, but this time I’m asking you out on a proper date, with me.”
Feeling elated inside, Jazmyn hesitated to answer immediately. Still trying to get herself together, but also, she didn’t want her feelings to be evident to Zack,
“C’mon, what do you say?”
“Yes, I would love that,” she replied
“Okay great. Goodnight” He gave her a chaste kiss on her cheek before entering his car, preparing to zoom off.
Jazmyn stood there for some minutes with a dazed smile on her face, reeling a strand of her twisted red locks before she opened the door and entered.
She called Brianna almost immediately, giving her all the details, and she said that they are going on another date on Friday.

Zack
Zack drove back home in his Porsche after dropping Jazmyn, whom he first thought, that he wouldn’t have anything to do with or that anything he’s was thinking couldn’t work out.
Though he just asked her out on a second date, his mind was already tricking him into thinking that nothing could go wrong between them. Zack took a deep breath as he sat down on his Hermes-designed 2-seater sofa to relax. Throughout the night, he kept thinking about her and how their second date would go.
Zack had started to think of ideas of what he could do on their second date; he didn’t want it to be the same as their last date, Zack wanted to surprise her and make her happy; he wanted something memorable, and it to be precious even more than gold.
He had an idea of taking her to a musical concert by her favorite band, but he didn’t know how he would achieve that, although Zack hoped he could. That was on his mind when his phone rang.
