“I don’t want to but I have to for both our sakes. I don’t think I possess enough self control to stop myself from taking you right now.”

Jazmyn wanted to scream for him to continue. For him to take her right there, surrounded by everything that felt familiar and safe. She wanted badly for them to get back to what they’d started but when she opened her mouth, no words came out.

Almost instantly she closed it shut and took a step back from the aftermath of the passionate magic they’d both just created.

“It’s alright. I was carried away too, I guess. Do you still want the coffee? I know it’s late, but I have Chamomile tea. It works perfectly to put you to sleep…”

Jazmyn’s voice trailed off as she became quietly aware of the amused look on Zack’s face. She’d been chattering on in a bid to hide her chagrin but had only succeeded in making it more obvious. Moments like this turned her into a clumsy, awkward wreck.

“I’ve got to go, Jaz darling,” Zack said, attempting to say something again but stopping himself almost immediately. “I’ll call you.”

Jazmyn nodded with a smile, unable to look away from his arresting features as he turned the door open to leave. The final click of the door closing jerked her out of the frozen state she’d slipped into. She found her hand reaching up to touch her lips; still throbbing from the force of his kiss.

She really hadn’t wanted him to leave.
