“And thousands of people around the world get into arranged marriages without knowing a thing about their partners… and they have been proven to work one hundred percent of the time as compared to the conventional ones.” He reached for her hand and traced his thumb over her knuckles. “I have this strong feeling that it could work between us.”

“Just like that?” she asked. “You would make such a commitment to a person you have not even… you know.”

He raised an eyebrow.

“A person I have not slept with?” he asked. “Is that what you wanted to say?”

She nodded reluctantly.

“Yeah.”

“You know the fact that you think that is a factor for me tells me everything I need to know about you. You are a picture of perfect innocence, the kind of person I know I want to have a future with.”

He pulled her sunglasses away and took off his own before he held the side of her face.

“I don’t know what to say,” she said as he looked into her eyes.

“I’m sorry… I know that this is all happening too fast, but I have to admit, I have never felt this way about someone so fast. It is scary but something in me is screaming that I should hold on and see where this goes, you know?”

Her gaze fell and he raised her chin with his finger.

“There is no pressure from me, but promise me that you will at least think about it,” he said in a soft voice, and she nodded reluctantly.

A million thoughts were crossing through her mind at that moment and for a split second, she felt like everything had slowed down around them. She wondered what she would have done if she had known him longer. Maybe for a few more months or even a year. Could she have given him a chance? Or would she have waited? On the one hand, he was the complete opposite of the men she normally met. The deadbeats who prioritized drugs, alcohol, and women, always looking for the next high in life. Michael was a caring man who did not even bat an eyelid when he heard that she had a child by another man. This alone was enough to tramp all doubts on her mind.

“Okay,” she suddenly said in a soft voice.

“What?” Michael was looking at her, surprised and excited at the same time.

“I’ll marry you,” she said, her voice even lower than it had been before.

Michael was just sitting there, looking at her as he processed what she had just said. Instead of saying anything, he slipped a hand at the back of her neck and leaned in to kiss her. She exhaled into his mouth and brought a hand up to hold on to a lock of his hair as they kissed. Their passionate kiss grew more intense and he leaned in, getting himself on top of her. She was panting by the time he pulled away.

“We better slow down or I will take you right here on this mountain,” he whispered as he pressed his forehead against hers.

She bit her lip thinking that s*x on the mountain probably wouldn’t have been too bad.

After spending most of the day hiking and taking in the local sights, Michael and Angela headed back to the hotel. Angela showered as Michael made plans for an early dinner. He was quite pleased with himself so far. Angela was not only hot and sexy, she was also nice. Incredibly nice. It was hard for him to believe that he had actually met someone who was this perfect. He could not help but wonder if the privileged girls he met in his social circles acted the way they did because they had so much in life. Here was a woman who had experienced so much in life at such a young age, but it was like everything she had gone through had only made her stronger. She might have had a strong outer shell, but once he got through, he found that she had this soft, warm heart.

He had just finished checking his emails when Angela walked out of the bathroom in a white, floral strapless maxi dress. Her curly hair was hanging loose, framing her face. The dress might have been a loose fit, but he could see the outline of her curves and he just wanted to go over to where she was and just pull her into his arms. If there was one thing he knew so well, it was that she was a sexy woman. Her entire being exuded s*x. He could feel himself getting hard just by looking at her.

“Wow,” he said in a soft voice. “You look… just wow.”

She tucked a curly strand behind her ear.

“In this old thing?” She slowly walked to where he was.

“It is perfect,” he said before looking down on his jeans and shirt. “Now, I kind of feel like a jerky Charlie Sheen in this.”

Angela giggled as she walked towards him.

“You look great.”

He looked at her as she walked towards him and a smile played on his lips. He slipped an arm around her waist and pulled her close to him.

“Hi, fiancé,” he whispered before he kissed her. She giggled again and wrapped her arms around him. He lowered his head and met her lips in a soft, lingering kiss.

“Hi,” she whispered when she pulled back.

“Our dinner awaits. I hope you like Thai.”

“Yeah, I do, but…” She raised an eyebrow over the other. “How are we going to get it exactly?”

“Oh, I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve. Thai food in Hawaii,” he said proudly.

“But this place is as remote as remote can get. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure you can find it in the mainland, but we are all the way out here…”

“Oh, trust me, we can.”

He kissed her again before leading her out. Getting Thai food in the resort was not the easiest thing, but he knew that a heavy tip to one of the chefs would get him exactly what he wanted. Their table was on a balcony overlooking the moonlit pool, setting the mood for their dinner.

“I hope you are loving your noodles,” he said as she took the last bite of her food.

“Honestly, I never thought it was possible to enjoy noodles the way I just did.” She reached for her glass and sipped on her wine. “Culinary perfection. How about you? How’s yours?” She frowned as she looked at the spicy chicken chunks he had been eating.

“Basil chicken.” He took a chunky piece in his chopsticks and lifted it to her mouth. “Try it.”

“I don’t know if I could have any more food, Michael.”

“Come on, it is just one bite,” he insisted, and she leaned forward and let him feed her.

“Wow… I know what I will be having next time,” she said in a soft voice.

“Don’t worry, we could always come back,” he said as she sipped on her wine. “Maybe after we get married.”

Angela felt her cheeks flush hot red and she sipped on her wine again.

“It could be as soon as tomorrow, you know,” he said and she almost choked on her wine.

“What? What are you saying?” she asked.
