They got married at the beach, and it was a beautiful setting. It was the kind of setting that people envied when they saw them in movies but Nate pulled some strings and asked around and got people to let them have the stretch of beach for their wedding even though it was not normally used for such purposes.

Phoebe looked absolutely resplendent in her wedding dress. It was a smooth, white dress, elegant and not too fancy, just how she liked it. She looked like an angel as she walked down the aisle, and as Nate saw her walking towards him he started to cry. He was not ashamed as he cried, he did not try to cover it up. He did not try to hold back the tears because he, just like Phoebe when he had proposed, knew the value of these tears. He knew that these tears symbolized their love, they were the tears that his soon to be wife brought out of him as she walked down the aisle. Phoebe loved him as she walked up to him and saw him cry. She loved him for not being ashamed of his emotions, for trying to pretend like he wasn’t the happiest he had ever been out of some misplaced sense of masculinity.

They said their vows. Everyone was crying by this point. They kissed and everyone applauded. It was at this moment that Phoebe realized that they were everyone’s favorite couple. Everyone admired them for how compatible they were, everyone wanted them to continue being happy together. She loved that aspect of their relationship. She loved that everyone around them agreed that they were perfect for each other, because it made her feel validated in feeling that way herself.

She couldn’t stop kissing him and that made the priest laugh. They ate and drank and danced afterwards, and they met everyone that had helped them over the course of their wedding.

Nate’s best man was his best friend Dean, and Phoebe’s made of honor was, of course ,her best friend in the whole world, Stephanie. She looked beautiful too and Dean looked very handsome, and they ended up hooking up after the wedding. Stephanie found out that she quite liked Dean and they started going steady after spending that first night together, and was happy that she had found a man of her own at her best friend’s wedding.

Nate and Phoebe rushed home after the wedding. They had some very important business to attend to, and left their daughter with Phoebe’s mother who couldn’t be happier getting her favorite grand baby for the whole night.

They rushed into their hotel room which Nate had insisted they get, saying that it was tradition for the bride and groom to spend their first night together in a hotel room of a very specific hotel in the city. They rushed into the room and looked at each other.

Something was different. They wondered what it was for a moment before they realized that it was the fact that they were married now. It changed things quite a bit. It made them realize that they had been silly to fear their love for each other, that they had been silly to think that anything but happiness would result from their feelings towards each other.

“I’m so happy I’m with you,” said Nate, holding Phoebe tight.

Phoebe smelled his deliciously spicy scent, moaned and said, “I’m so happy with you too, baby.”

Nate suddenly picked her up and pushed her against the wall.

In that moment, Phoebe realized that everything had turned out for the best, that all of the struggle had been worth it.

The end.
