“You’re the one that has to guess that,” said Phoebe with a smirk. “It’s not going to be that easy. This is a drinking game, remember? Go on, guess. I will give you my turn just this once.”
“Literature,” said Nate without missing a beat. Phoebe was completely and utterly amazed. “How on Earth could you possibly have guessed that?”
“It was a lucky guess,” said Nate with a shrug and a nervous smile. “I just know how to seem confident when I am not sure of what the answer to a particular question is. It’s my defense mechanism, I suppose. It’s how I make myself feel like I am in control of a particular situation.”
“So you are a guy that likes being in control,” said Phoebe. “That’s interesting. It’s not my guess, of course, it’s too obvious so it wouldn’t be fair. I think you are in a position of control but you don’t really have actual power. I think… I think you are being prepared for power because you are scared of losing control and have defense mechanisms put in place that allow you to feel like you are not losing any of the power that you already have. It’s kind of a wild guess, but I feel like it’s true. Is it?”
“That’s very true,” said Nate. He took another sip of his whiskey. “How you were able to guess that is beyond me. I am very impressed by your analytical skills. You’ve always been this analytical haven’t you? You’re a fan of Sherlock Holmes.”
“Right you are,” said Phoebe, raising her glass before she took a sip of her wine. It was almost finished now, so the bartender topped her up.
“Alright,” said Phoebe. “It’s my turn now again, isn’t it? Alright. I’m going to start venturing into heavy territory now, I hope you don’t mind.”
“By all means,” said Nate. “I think it’s high time that we start getting to the good stuff anyway.”
“Alright,” said Phoebe, rubbing her hands together. “You’ve had your heart broken.”
“Come on,” said Nate, “most of the people in the world have had their heart broken so this is not exactly fair.”
“You had your heart broken by a girl that wanted your money,” said Phoebe. “She made you think that she loved you but all she wanted was for you to buy her nice things and when she got what she wanted she dumped you.”
“Wow,” said Nate. He looked at his glass. “That is… yeah that’s true. That’s very, very true.”
“I’m sorry,” said Phoebe, “are you okay? Should I not have said anything? Sometimes I say things without thinking, it’s a bit of a problem if I am very honest. I need to stop doing that.”
“No, no!” said Nate. “Don’t worry about it, you didn’t say anything wrong I promise. It’s been five years since that happened, I’m more or less over it. I’m just so surprised at the accuracy of your information. How were you able to guess that?”

“It was another lucky guess,” said Phoebe with a smile. “That’s two between us.”
“It’s cool how lucky guesses are allowing us to learn new things about each other,” said Nate. “I’m glad that this is so… easy. Getting to know someone has never been this easy for me, and I’m really glad about how easy it is with you because I really like you.”
For the next hour they drank and got to know each other like this. By the time they were drunk, they were also very horny so they decided to head to a hotel. Phoebe hurried to Stephanie and told her that she was going to be home late and not to worry.
Nate drove them to a hotel. This was dangerous but Phoebe was far too drunk to care. When they got to the hotel, Nate slammed her against the wall and rammed his lips against hers.
“Tell me you want me,” said Nate. “Do it now.”
