She came again, one leg lifting to wrap around his waist as she met his fevered thrusts, her body arching, the moans trapped inside his mouth.
He came with her, his long, lean body shuddering. Tearing his mouth from hers, he drove into her one last time, the control he had been fighting to keep getting away from him.
As soon as he was able, he shifted, arms wrapped around her in tight possession, his heart still hammering inside his chest, feeling shattered. She was the only woman who had ever made him feel this way, and it not only humbled him but also terrified him.
He could not lose her; the very thought of that happening sent waves of panic throughout his body.
“You are quiet.” Her soft voice stirred him from his troubled thoughts. Tipping his head down, he realized that she had been watching him.
“Just reflecting.”
“On?” Her fingers were tangled in the hairs on his chest, and she could feel the unsteady beating of his heart.
“How much I love you.” He said evasively.
“That was not all.”
He quirked a brow at her. “Are you able to read my thoughts now?”
“I am completely in love with you, and because of that, I am attuned to your every mood.”
“So, I guess I will have to be more careful.”
“Reginald.”
Shaking his head, he bent to brush his lips against hers. “You are too persistent for your own good. I was thinking that I would be destroyed completely if I lost you.”
“This is our honeymoon, and there is a rule against that thinking.” She told him firmly.
“Is there?”
“Yep.” She brushed her fingers against his stiff jaw. “And I am making a decree right here and now. We are going to live until we are both old and gray.”
“What are you thinking? A hundred?” He asked teasingly.
“More like a hundred and fifty.”
“Don’t you think we will get sick and tired of each other?”
“No. Because I happen to be an interesting person.”
“Is that right?” He felt the tension leaving his chest and felt that had been her intention all along.
“Oh yes. And if you cannot perform your husbandly duties during that time, I can always have a younger man step in to pick up the slack.” She grinned at the ominous expression on his handsome face.
“Isn’t there some sort of law forbidding the mention of other men during the honeymoon?”
“I believe there is. I will wait to have this discussion when we return home.”
Shaking his head at her, he shifted her on top of him. “There will be no other man. Is that clear?”
“As crystal.” She whispered huskily. “I adore you, Mr. Tanner.”
“And I worship you, Mrs. Tanner.”

“If it’s a boy, we will name him Michael.”
“And if it’s a girl, I like the name Madison. You don’t think it’s too soon?” He implored a little. It was their three-month anniversary, and she suspected she was pregnant when she missed her monthly.
This suspicion was confirmed when she started throwing up at the scent of bacon. When they returned from their honeymoon, his parents declared they were moving into a townhouse a few blocks away and gave them the house.
Jacinth had protested vigorously to no avail.
“It’s too big for two people, and very soon, you will start a family.” William had told them firmly.
“No, it’s not.”
He tried to persuade her to stop working, but she put her foot down. “I am not accustomed to sitting around doing nothing.”
“There are various charities the company has set up.”
“I am not giving up my job.” She told him stubbornly.
“You don’t need the damn money.”
“I am not doing it for the money; if I were not here, you and your dad would be lost.”
“Dammit- “
“You are going to have to fire me.”
He glared at her for a minute before turning on his heels. Half an hour later, he called her inside his office.
“I don’t have time for another argument- “
“Neither do I.” Pushing back from his desk, he took her in his arms. “I hate that you are so damned stubborn.” He whispered against her mouth.
“And I hate that you are so highhanded.” She whispered back.
“I am only looking out for you.”
“I know, and the minute I feel I cannot manage, I leave.”
“Promise?”
She nodded.
“I am holding you to it.”
