“Nice,” she exclaimed. “I am into nothing at the moment,” she said, a melancholy look darkening her features.

“Thank you,” he whispered. “I needed that.”
She smiled back, knowing exactly how he felt. He stretched his hand out so that it now rested across her back, and in another fifteen minutes, when she could feel his weight bearing down on her, she knew he was fast asleep. She didn’t know when the same feelings came over her, but when she opened her eyes again, the faintest light was creeping through the window. She looked over at him, still in deep sleep and rolled out of bed, careful not to wake him. She tiptoed out of bed, only now noticing the magnificence and elegance of the room and walked out. She got to the sofa and resumed her clothing, all except for her underwear which hadn’t survived the passion filled moment. She smiled as she took it up and stuffed it inside her bag. She let herself out and walked down the passage way, still drunk from last night. She was walking through the main door when she saw a cab pulling up to the curb; she thanked the heavens she could get away that quickly without being noticed. She hopped in and directed him to her home.
Adrian stood at the window, watching her as she got into the cab. He had been aware when she left the bed, but he pretended to be asleep to avoid any discomfort. This was to be a solo event and he didn’t want to embarrass her. He had felt something, being with her, and he wondered if he would ever see her again.
Several nights after that he went to the club, hoping to catch a glimpse of her, but she never did come back. Too bad, he thought. They did go well together.
