She looked at it and smiled even wider.
I like a direct and straightforward woman. It is one of the things that I consider a turn on if you don’t mind my saying and I miss you too.
Desiree smiled and then laughed. She wanted to reply when her phone suddenly began ringing. It was Taylor.
“Texting is not enough?” she asked when she picked u the phone.
“I am on a job right now and I can see the judgmental lady looking at me through the window. This way it looks like I am on an important business call,” Taylor said. Desiree laughed again.
“I love a man who can cook up some business out of thin air,” she said. “So, how are you, you know since the whole being busted thing?” she asked.
“You call that being busted?” he asked sounding surprised. Desiree was a bit confused at the way he reacted. “When I was nineteen, I was at a military facility in the Middle East and there was a female cadet I specifically had something for but we got busted by my commanding officer just before I finished,” he said. Desiree could not hold back. She laughed out loud as he went on to explain how he was later punished by having to clean the entire camp’s dirty dishes for a week while still meeting his daily responsibilities.
“That must have been hard,” she said.
“Tell me about it,” he said. “But I was exceptional in the field so that was never in my permanent record,” he added. Desiree could actually see him smiling as he said that.
“You seem to have very bad luck with your s*xual escapades. It’s almost as if the world is against you having an org*sm,” she said.
“That’s just mean,” he said.
“What? We got busted barely seconds after we began and you just told me your commanding officer caught you just a few minutes shy of c*mming,” she said smiling. She wanted to press his buttons and she knew it was working.

“Well, there’s that but when I finally do, you will love it. I will make sure of it,” he said. Desiree was not sure why what he said got to her so much. Perhaps it was how he said it, in a low sexy voice because even though it was a corny statement, she could already feel her panties getting wet.
“For some reason, Ericson, I believe you,” she said in a low voice. There was a brief silence after that. It was obvious that neither of them had anything to say. “I have to go. I’ll see you tomorrow,” she said.
“Sure. Have a good day Dee,” he said before hanging up. Desiree lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling for some time thinking about Taylor. She was sure of one thing. She liked Taylor, a lot but she had also thought she liked Mark too but then again, he was all brawn and no brains. A glorified asshole. She needed more than a glorified ass. She needed a gentleman, a person who saw her for what she really was. Someone who would actually help her move forward in life and not hold her back like Leon had. For some reason, anytime she pictured a future with Mark, all she saw was misery. And this was not only because of the way he had talked to her that fateful evening. There was a strange vibe about him. It was like he was the kind of man that would expect you to quit a promising career once he showed interest because he would much rather have a “supportive” woman by his side than a person that was her own woman. To Mark, if he ever settled down with a woman, she would be seen and not heard. That was what she really thought of him.
She looked at her phone again. Taylor’s last text was still on her home screen. Taylor was definitely no Mark or Leon. Maybe something good could actually come out of this. She smiled to herself as she got to her feet. It was only eight in the morning. She still had a good four hours before she reported for her shift and she could not talk to Taylor again, or she would seem desperate. She slowly began undressing as she thought of the day ahead. She would figure the day out as the hours went by.
“Maybe I could stop by the flea market and see if I can get a good bargain for some good stuff,” she thought as she put her nightgown away. Even though she tried hard not to think about it, she could not help but think of the next time she would see Taylor. What she would wear. How the evening would end. She smiled to herself as she walked to the bathroom. She would just have to wait and see how everything would play out.
