Love In The Wild West

Lila looked at Kurt. She could not believe that this wonderful man in front of her was real. She could not believe that he actually existed and that he was standing before her, loving her with such intensity that he was willing to offer her a job and a way to be with him and then let her decide if she wanted these things without being with him.

She kissed him hard and pushed him back on to the desk. She looked him in the eye and said, “I love you.”

“I love you too,” said Kurt after a long pause. It was the same long pause that Lila loved. It was the same long pause that made her feel like every single thing he said to her was given importance, it was weighed and measured to see if it was worth saying. Lila especially loved that he had taken this pause before telling her that he loved her, because if he had just said it without care of regard for what the words meant she might have felt a little uncertain about his feelings for her. This was not the case, however. He clearly cared about her a great deal, enough to think about whether he really meant what he was about to say or not. She could not even begin to tell him how much she appreciated the fact that he was putting so much effort into what he was saying right now.

Lila kissed him softly and then started to unbutton her shirt.

Kurt looked at Lila in a loving manner and said, “So… is that a yes?”

Lila laughed harder than she had ever laughed before. She laughed with her entire body and her mind was filled with contentment and happiness and absolutely no regret or second thoughts as she said, “Yes!”
