“Oh do not worry about it,” said Kurt. “I just got here myself. I was worried that I had kept you waiting!”

“Kurt,” said Lila, “this is my best friend Louise. Louise, this is Kurt Dennison, owner of the hotel.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” said Louise, smiling and shaking Kurt’s hand. “Lila told me that you guys are going to offer horse riding lessons tonight. I would love to attend these lessons!”

“There you go!” said Lila with a laugh, “our very first interested customer and we have not even started marketing the lessons yet!”

“Great,” said Kurt, “I can not wait to see what happens when we actually start marketing these things.”

“Did you manage to get the flyers?” asked Lila.

“I did,” said Kurt, raising a bunch of flyers that he had been keeping under his arm. “I printed about a hundred. We can distribute these to as many people as possible and put them up on the bulletin board of the hotel as well. This way we can get at least a few people interested in the horse riding lessons. We are also going to have a message played over the intercom advertising the lessons. The people in the restaurants and courtyards will all be able to hear it. We’ll have an announcement like this once an hour until the time comes to finally have the lessons.”

“This sounds great!” said Lila. “I hope we can get as many people interested as possible. Frankly, I would say that if a dozen people end up joining the lessons it will be a success. Once a few people have joined up, word of mouth will spread and soon there will be a lot of people interested in these lessons!”

“Eleven people,” Louise corrected. “You already have one person interested, remember?”

“Alright,” said Lila rubbing her hands together, “Let’s do this.”

They exited the annex and went into the restaurant. Lila looked around. Everyone here was relaxed and having a good time.

“We can not just walk up to everyone and hand them a flyer, of course,” said Kurt. “What do you think we should do?’

“I think we should talk to the waiters,” said Lila. “Hand them a bunch of flyers and have them give a flyer to each table with the bill. People can see what it’s all about without having to be under pressure to give a quick answer. I think that this would be a good way to help people get interested without pushing them into giving in.”

“That is a great idea,” said Kurt. “I think we should talk to the waiters too. Wait, let me talk to the manager of the restaurant.”

Kurt went up to a man in a suit who shook his hand respectfully. He handed the man about three dozen flyers and then came back with a smile on his face.

“The manager said that he is going to give the flyers to people that seem more… outdoorsy,” said Kurt.

“That is a great idea,” said Lila. “People who are fit and tanned are more likely to be interested in something like this. We can advertise more tomorrow as well by making more flyers and maybe some posters.”

They went out back to the swimming pool and saw everyone relaxing.

“I do not think we have to be cautious here,” said Kurt. “We are going to be handing flyers out to people that are already being active, so I think that there is a good chance that we are going to get some interested people here. Besides, the people here are not eating so it wouldn’t be impolite to approach them to hand them a flyer. I think that we should avoid people that look like they do not want to be disturbed, but as long as we are sensible about it I do not see any reason we will not be able to handle this situation properly.”

“Alright,” said Lila, looking around. “There are a bunch of guys here… I think I should be the one to approach them. I mean, they are going to see a pretty lady and want to know what she says. I do not think that would be a bad idea, do you?’

“No that is actually a pretty great idea,” said Kurt. He looked at her up and down and said, “You are a beautiful woman, any man would want to look at you forever.”

Lila blushed and said, “Oh stop it you.”

She was once again glad of the fact that she was black because it meant that Kurt would not be able to see the blush that was rising up her face.

She walked up to a bunch of guys and handed them the flyers. They ogled her as she walked up to them and she was sure that they were checking her out as she walked away. She enjoyed the attention, and was also quite happy that Kurt was watching her being admired by so many men. She knew that he was not the kind of person that would get jealous easily, but she also knew that he was attracted to her and that he would want her attention even more after seeing her being given so much attention by other men.

“That went well,” said Lila. “I distributed about fifteen flyers. I think you should come with me to distribute some more. You are a pretty handsome guy, you can get the woman to pay attention to what we are trying to say as well.”

Kurt laughed and said, “Fair enough. We used you as eye candy, it’s only fair that I get used as eye candy myself!”

Kurt walked up to a number of women and handed them flyers, leaving them giggling and laughing in his wake. The thing about Kurt was that he was not just extremely handsome, he was charming as well. He knew how to talk and behave in a manner that made people want to be around him. He had a way of making you feel attracted to him no matter what, and this was what made Lila feel so attracted to him as well.

Lila felt a twinge of jealousy when she saw a number of beautiful young girls flirt with Kurt, but she knew that he wanted her more than any of them. She attracted him in a way that these other girls simply could not. There was something in her that none of the other girls could pull off, and that was mental compatibility with Kurt.

Once Kurt was done handing out the flyers he and Lila went to other parts of the hotel and handed out some more flyers. By the time they were done, the announcement in the hotel rang out.

“Ladies and gentleman,” rang the voice over the intercom, “we are pleased to announce that the Dennison Ranch and Resort is offering horse riding lessons for the very first time! These lessons will be conducted by our very own Kurt Dennison, owner and manager of this establishment. The lessons will be at seven pm, please inquire at the front desk if you are interested or call us using the phones in your hotel rooms!”

“That will work nicely,” said Lila. “I can already see a number of people talking about this and showing each other the flyers. I think we are going to get a lot more people than we thought we were going to get!”
