“Would you lower your voice?” Anton asked as he stood up. “Do you want me to call security?”
“For what? Telling the truth?” Josie asked angrily. “You could go to your grave shouting that you only promoted Sienna because of her good work but everyone knows that the two of you are sleeping together.”
“Watch yourself, Johnson!”
“What? It’s the worst kept secret since Monica Lewinsky.” Josie rubbed her temple and sighed. “I hate playing the race card but don’t think I have not noticed what happens here.”
“What are you talking about?” he asked. “What race card?”
“Michelle Chan?” she asked. “Do you think it was just a coincidence that she got poached by our biggest competitor?”
Anton frowned.
“Michelle Chan…”
“Stop playing games here,” she said in a soft voice. “You know exactly who she is. The new creative director at your rival company. You know why she left? Because here, she was nothing but an errand girl and as part of my resignation bonus, I should probably tell you that there was a head hunter who recruited Lisa Torres for Mandalay Inc.”
Anton raised an eyebrow over the other. Mandalay Incorporated was the biggest advertising firm in the country, one that had attempted to buy into Rank Media. His growing fear was that Mandalay Incorporated would make a move for his company in a hostile takeover.
“What would Mandalay Inc. want with an assistant?” he asked and Josie shook her head.
“She was more than just an assistant, you know,” she said in a soft voice. “She was a market strategist and she was the brains behind the bulk of your campaigns. But since you decided to treat her like another piece of trash, she is moving to Mandalay with all the inside information they need about this place.”

Josie turned around and sighed loudly before she once again turned to look at Anton.
“You already lost three great workers. Learn from your mistakes,” she said as she opened the door.
“What do you mean, three?” Anton asked.
“Isn’t it obvious? I quit,” she said in a soft voice before she walked out of the office.
Sasha seemed startled when she walked out and Josie just knew that she had been listening in on their conversation, not that it mattered to Josie. She was done with Rank Media. It was a chapter of her life that she was glad to close the door on and she could not wait to get started on her new journey. As she cleaned up her desk, she felt a sense of panic. She had no idea what she was going to do next or where she was going to go. All she knew for sure was that she had to get out of that toxic environment.
