“Ethan…” she started before her voice trailed off.
She did not know if her best friend could see just how nervous she was but her hands were already getting clammy.
“Ethan asked me out… like out on a date with him,” she finally said and Dani raised an eyebrow at her.
“I knew something was going on there but damn, I did not see that coming. At least not this soon.”
Josie shook her head.
“What do you mean you knew something was going on?” she asked and Dani shrugged.
“Sweetie, you have been working late almost every night since you started working there. Well, maybe not since the very day you started but it was a few weeks later.”
“So?” Josie feigned innocence. “People work late all the time.”
“Yeah, they do but they don’t always come back home looking like they just got a full body massage at the Four Seasons,” Dani said matter of factly. “I’m not judging. I am just telling you that I knew that there was something going on between the two of you.”
Josie was trying hard to hide the smile that was threatening to break-through.
“So, he asked you out on a date?” Dania asked, smiling, and she nodded.
“Yeah, he did and I don’t know what to say.”
Dani raised an eyebrow at her.
“Really? You don’t know what to say?”
Josie shrugged.
“What? Should I?”
“I’ll answer that after you answer me this. Tell me the first thing that comes to your mind when I say this.”
Josie shook her head.
“You know I hate that game.”
“Well, that game also helps us make some of the most important decisions in our lives.”
Josie shook her head again.
“Really? This is not a decision between getting a table from Pottery Barn or IKEA.”
Dani shrugged.
“And that game which is also our thought process gave us this lovely coffee table which we both agree should not be sold to a neutral third party because we love it so much.”
Josie shook her head and nodded.
“Okay, fine. Shoot.”
Dani crossed her legs and looked at her.
“Perfect. Now you know the drill. Close your eyes.”
Josie nodded and closed her eyes as Dani smiled.
Okay. New Orleans”
“Soul food”
“Miami.”
“Two and a half men.”
“What?” Dani asked, a little confused.
“The Charlie Sheen show. The one where he took in his divorced brother and nephew.”
“Oh yeah. Moving on. Smooth music.”
“Calm.”

“Ethan.”
“Happiness.”
The word came out of her mouth so fast that she did not realize what she had said until she noticed how quiet the room had suddenly become. She opened her eyes and looked at Dani who was smiling back at her.
“Yeah, definitely go out with him,” she said with a smile.
Josie had finally pulled out all her cards but she most definitely had not put them all on the table.
