When she nodded, he continued. “I don’t regret my offer to marry you, at the time I couldn’t see myself with anyone else and my feelings on the matter haven’t change. When I’m around you I feel revitalized, you are like a breath of fresh air in a dreary world. I would feel hopeless without you by my side Trina and the offer still stands. I want you, it will always be there for you to take.” He paused and looked straight down into her eyes. Trina felt instantly rooted, mesmerized by his powerful gaze, she could feel all the emotion emanating from him as it penetrated her skin. She soon got caught up in the swirling emotions that she soon felt like he did.
Her pulsed jumped and her heart skipped a beat. She never knew how much she wanted him to kiss her until that moment. It was as if her whole body craved it and she was helpless to fight it. He knew what he was doing when he came towards her with that look in his eye. She was pretty sure if she wasn’t already sitting she would have taken a few steps back. When his lips finally touched hers it felt like she was feeling it again for the first time. His lips felt amazing against hers, it was so soft and gentle to touch, his expertise at kissing made her moan her approval of his caressing mouth.
Just one kiss and then he stopped, it was like the waterfalls she had been chasing had suddenly dried up. The loss of his lips was more than she could bear, added to the discomfort of feeling bloated. She couldn’t help but feel that he was delighting in torturing her. She started to protest but then he kissed her again and again but harder each time as if he was running out of time. He left her breathless with each kiss, the need for him spread from in her belly and spiraled out. It was like he felt the rise of her passion to and it urged him to pull her closer, cupping her face and tilting her head so that she was at the right angle for him to deepen the kiss.
Trina knew now that she wanted him to give her more than just butterfly kisses. His mouth was no longer soft, he was becoming more aggressive with every passing minute and she loved it. She wanted to rip off his clothes and touch him. It was like both of them forgot they were out in public and not in the privacy of their bedroom and thrilled them both even more. Her hand slipped into his shirt, feeling the strength of muscle and bone, she started from his collar bone and worked her way don’t to his right nip*le. It hardened under her caresses instantly. He gently removed her hand, he didn’t want this to go too far, he had no intentions of making love to her for the duration of the trip she just didn’t know it yet.
True to his word Damon never made love to her that night or for the rest of her duration at his family house. He was hell bent on proving that he wanted her for more than just s*x to her great dismay.
She had only used up all her sick leave and she would continue to work up until it was time to give birth then she would be granted maternity leave. Damon was on the road again handling his business but he kept in contact with her every day and made sure she could reach him no matter what country he was in. He would take some more time off closer to her due date so that he could be with her and the baby when it was time for her to have the child.
She was running out of space in her garage because every country Damon went he saw something that he either had to get for her or the baby. She teased him that when he got back he sent her enough stuff to have a yard sale. He of course wasn’t amused but she laughed herself silly. She knew that ideally her house wasn’t suited for a child. It was just a two bed room, Alexis had one room she had the other. During the early stage of his life her baby boy could sleep with her but as he grew older he would need his own room. She didn’t know the first thing about taking care of a boy and really wished she was having a girl instead.

She was really glad that Damon would be around to provide their child with the emotional support he would need to grow into a strong young man. It helped that unlike her mother she wouldn’t have raise a child alone and she would have Damon to turn to for support and advice. It took her some time getting used to discussing family matters and other mundane topics with Damon when she was used to going it alone. She knew she was heavily invested in Damon when one night she came home from work and turned on the television. She had left it on the news channel after watching one of her favorite talk shows the night before.
Just by chance she caught the news flash that passed at the bottom of the screen. It said 9.0 earthquake hit Japan setting off smaller tremors and flooding in certain places. She remembered that Damon was supposed to be flying back that day and she had no idea if he made it to the airport. Panic set in when she called his number and it rang without an answer. She called his personal assistant and got no response. She started to freak out then she remembered she had the family home number in her phone. His mom answered on the first ring. They too hadn’t heard from him and was very worried because it was unusual for him to go so long without answering his phone.
His mom asked her join her in prayer for her son which she did, it gave her an inner calm for a few hours but could not prevent a restless night of sleep as she got worried sick over her man. Alexis had to be monitoring her and reminding her to stay calm for the health of the baby.
When three days passed and still no word she began to fear the worst. It wasn’t until the fourth day that she heard from him. He lost his phone and most of his belonging but manage to hold on to the bag with his passport when the flood hit. In the state of confusion the airport remained closed until they could establish some order. After three days it had reopened and he was able to leave on the first available flight. Damon never realized how heavily dependent he was on his cell until he lost it in the water from the flood and realized he didn’t know any numbers out of his head.
He said the day of the earthquake was a real eye opening experience it was like life flashed before his eyes and his only regret was that he had not made Trina his wife before he died. Trina felt the tears fall down her face as she listened to him speak. Yet she still could not bring herself to hear the words that he most wanted to hear. He told her that when he made it back home he was going to change his will to include her and their baby. He never wanted them to need for anything should something happen to him. All Trina could think about was how close she came to losing him and it took a natural disaster to bring such a strong man to his knees. She was grateful and thankful to God for sparing his life. All the money in the world doesn’t mean anything if you can’t live to enjoy it because you can’t take it with you when you die. She knew now that nothing short of death would stop Damon from wanting to remain a part of her life.
