After she stood up, she quickly put on her shirt and pants, cloaking herself with a blanket and went outside. Carefully stepping, she reached the deck and spotted the strong figure of Dean. He was standing with his back turned to her and his phone on his ear. Who was he talking to?
She came behind him, laying her head on his shoulder. He caressed her with his hand.
“Yeah, yeah. Thank you, sir!” He hung up turning to look at her. The night around them was young and sweet.
“What is it?” She asked seeing his wide smile spread across his face.
“I prepared dinner!” Dean took her to the corner of the deck where a small wooden table and two chairs were placed. There were two plates with fish and salad on it.
“Dean! Don’t evade the subject! Who was calling you?” She asked again starting to get worried. She didn’t want the problems from the city to catch them there in the calmness of the ocean.
He poked the fork in the salad, bringing a piece of cucumber to his mouth. “It was my lawyer.” He chewed it.
“Your lawyer? Did something happen?” She was wondering how he could eat under the circumstances.
“Something happened, yeah. Something wonderful! We are free, Raina. He took care of everything. He sent Sally back to the hole where she came from and shut down her pleas. Apparently she had lost all the money while gambling in Vegas so the police will take it from here. She can no longer threaten us!” He explained joyfully, taking Raina’s hand in his.
“That is so great, hon! I… I don’t know what to say…”
“I want to spend the rest of my days with you, sweetheart. You are my one and only, Raina. I don’t want to wake up without your face next to me anymore. I don’t want to watch movies or go to the theater or to celebrations without you anymore. I… I need you in my life.” He stood up approaching her. It was then that she noticed that his face was lit by candles, which were neatly ordered around the table. “I love you, Raina Barnes. So… Would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?” He crouched before her pulling a red package from his pocket and opening it. A magical diamante ring shone from inside it creating tears in Raina’s eyes. Dean was excited, as well. His hands and his voice were shaking as he eagerly stared at her face.
“Yes! Yes! I want to spend the rest of my life with you, Dean!” She shot the words like a bolt in the night.
“I am the happiest man alive!” Dean shouted in the air and after he slipped the ring on her finger, he lifted her up in his arms and spun her around. “I love you!” He was still yelling while she couldn’t stop laughing and crying at the same time.

She was engaged to Dean Franklin! Oh God! She was truly engaged to the man of her heart! She couldn’t believe it how destiny played and played until it brought her on the right path. Her feet touched the decks when Dean ran to the table and fetched his phone. He lifted it above their heads. “Say cheese!” He said as she showed the ring to the camera and spread her lips as far as they could go.
The blitz lit the both of them and they laughed. The picture was perfect. It seemed that their whole happiness was captured in it.
“Just what the tomorrow’s newspapers need!” Dean smiled and only then Raina realized his intentions. He opened the Instagram app, put ‘#engaged #loveher’ with two hearts next to the words and clicked ‘upload’.
“Let the whole world know how much I love you!” He told her with his arm around her shoulders. Their joyful eyes met as the hearts under the picture went wild and his followers flocked the image with comments.
The end.
