Chapter 6

By the time they left Cantare, Brian felt as though he was going to implode. Nina had used every opportunity to tease and taunt him with her body, as he led her expertly round the dance floor.

Once they were seated in the car, he kept his hands on the steering wheel as he spoke.

“Your place or mine?”

“That depends.”

“On?”

“Are you going to ignore me for two days after we sleep together again?”

Brian groaned, throwing his head back against the head rest. “You’re never going to let me forget that, are you?”

Nina giggled, the sound light and cheerful. “Nuh uh. I get the feeling you don’t make mistakes very often, so it’s best if I keep this one handy to make sure your ego doesn’t run away from you.”

“So… that still doesn’t answer my question. Your place or mine?”

“One track mind, huh?” Nina laughed, but Brian could hear the desire in her voice. “Which one is closer?”

“Mine.”

“Yours it is then.”

“Sure?”

“No, but I’m sure I want you, so you’d better hurry before I have a chance to second guess my decision.”

Brian took her at her word, driving as fast as possible without breaking speed limits. They pulled up at his house, and the gate opened smoothly. Unlike the night Nina had come here to attend Jen’s birthday, the house was in darkness, only the light from the porch was still on.

Brian pulled around the side of the house, and into the garage, parking the car next to an Aston Martin. When Nina climbed out, not waiting for him to open her door, she gasped. The garage held six cars, all classics, and in mint condition.

“Are these yours?”

“Sort of. My Dad was a collector. I like cars, but not enough to collect them. These were just his favorites. Tristan and I both got about twenty different vehicles when he died.” He saw the question on her face and continued, “Jen got the motorbikes.”

“Somehow, I didn’t really picture your sister as a motorbike type.”

“You should see her do motocross. The girl’s a demon. Kicks butt with the best of them.” There was pride in his voice as he led the way into the house, switching on lights as they went.

“You’re really close to your sister, aren’t you?”

“She’s my best friend.” Brian spoke simply, turning to smile at Nina as they entered the kitchen. “Would you like a drink?”

Nina stepped forward, wrapping her arms around his waist and lifting her face for his kiss. “No, I think we’ve been patient enough. Why don’t you show me your bedroom, Mr. Guidice?”

Brian let go of her, and she dropped her legs to the floor.
