“You do know that I tried reaching you right?” she asked and he nodded.
“I should have done more to reach you. I had an incident…dropped my phone in the river,” he said as he gently lay on his side next to her. His arm was lovingly draped around her. “While scouting for locations for the docudrama, I checked out a river…something that could work as a lake and it just slipped…we tried getting it out of there but it was too late. The damage had already been done,” he explained and she smiled.
“Your phone suffered water damage?” she asked. “That’s the story you are going with?”
He shook his head.
“More like mud damage,” he said. “But told you all this when I finally got through to you.”
She shrugged.
“I might not have been listening,” she admitted. “I mean it is not every day I get confronted by one of your exes just hours after a story breaks that my boyfriend is dating a hot Swiss actress.”
“For starters, Zoe is not an ex. She is just someone who I slept with and you are not my girlfriend.” He reached for her left hand. “You are my fiancé.”
“Then marry me,” she said. “Let’s put the rumors to rest.”
He smiled.
“I know just the perfect place to have our wedding,” he said in a soft voice before he planted a kiss on her forehead.

When Guillaume said that he had the perfect place in mind, Lara could have never suspected that he was talking about the villa where their romance was born. But it only made sense that they began their new life where it had all began.
Lara was looking at her reflection in the mirror. She was wearing a vintage long sleeved lace dress with a plunging v-neckline to show off her well rounded bre*sts. The perfect fit of the dress was exactly what she needed to compliment her luscious hippy figure. She had her straightened hair pulled to a side bun held in place by a silver pin adorned by small sapphire stones that Guillaume had given her. It was the only thing he still had that belonged to his mother. Lara was still feeling emotional when Myka secured her veil and handed her the bouquet of red roses.
“You look perfect,” Myka said smiling.
“Yeah, I couldn’t have picked a better dress for you myself,” Ashley said smiling just as Michael walked into the room.
“Oh my God…” he said in a low voice when he saw Lara. “You were right, Ash. She is a freaking princess,” he added as Lara turned around.
“Now don’t…Michael. Don’t,” Ashley said as she held a finger up.
“Don’t what?” Myka asked.
“Yeah…what?” this was Lara asking. But she didn’t have to wait too long. She smiled when she saw a tear rolling down Michael’s face.
“Oh…Michael. I never figured you for one of the emotional types,” Myka said as Ashley shook her head.
“He did the same on our wedding day too…and when I told him I was pregnant and again when he first held MJ,” she said. “I don’t know Lara. Maybe someone else should give you away.”
“Don’t you dare take this away from me, Ash!” Michael said and the girls laughed.
“Is everything alright out there?” Ashley asked still laughing.
“Yeah, since the villa is right in the middle of the property, we are a good distance from the paparazzi.” He shook his head. “Even with the hush-hush wedding they still found out but don’t worry, the best chance they have of a photo is using drones.”
“Or buying it from TMZ,” Lara said and everyone turned to look at her.
“What? Why?” Myka asked. “How would they even have better photos?”
“Guillaume got them a deal. Print a retraction and an apology in exchange for two hundred grand and exclusive photos of the wedding.”
“Wait, they make the mistake and you have to pay them?” Ashley asked and Lara shook her head.
“No. They are paying him,” she said and Myka laughed.
“I have to say, I love this new life.”
Just then, they heard a knock on the door and the wedding planner poked her head through the doorway.
“It’s time for the bride,” she announced and Lara took a long deep breath.
“Ready?” Ashley asked and she nodded.
“More than I’ll ever be,” she said in a soft voice and Ashley gave her a hug.
“See you out there, okay?” she asked and Lara nodded.
“Yeah see you.”
“You are a beautiful bride big sister,” Myka said and kissed Lara’s cheek before they both walked out leaving Lara and Michael in there looking at each other.
“This is it then, huh?” Michael asked and she nodded. “You’re ready?”
“I know I said I was a few minutes ago but…” her voice trailed off as she shook her head.
“Can I let you in on a little secret?” Michael asked and she nodded. “Guillaume is more on edge than you are right now.”
She forced out a laugh.

“Why?” she asked.
“Because at the back of his mind he is wondering what a woman like you is doing with him. And because he is hoping that you are yet to wise up and see him for the idiot he really is,” he said, smiling. “Come on,” he said as he took her hand. “Don’t make him sh*t his pants out there and in front of TMZ no less.”
Lara took a long deep breath and as the band began playing their song, Chasing Cars, she could feel her heart racing and her eyes welling up. But when she saw Guillaume at the end of the aisle waiting for her in that stunning black slim suit and his hair pulled back in a ponytail looking as sexy as ever, she knew in her heart that she was making the right decision.
This was not just her choice. This was his choice too. And God had made it happen. She was his and he was forever hers.
The end.
