Chapter 6

The storm lasted two days and on the fourth day it was bright and sunny day, Phillip declared it safe for them to go and explore the country side. They packed a picnic basket with all kinds of delectable treats along with a cooler that contained juices and two chilled bottles of wine.

“Where are we going?”

“There is a popular hiking trail through the mountains behind the ski lodge. We will go as far as the vehicle can take us and hike the rest of the way. It won’t be that strenuous a walk, you won’t regret it. There are some incredible views from the top of the peak.”

Lorraine was a city gal, she wasn’t too keen on the idea of walking but with Phillip by her side she wouldn’t have to worry, she could just take in the handsome view rather than nature and the rigorous walk ahead of them and in no time at all they would reach the top. The heater in the pickup was maxed, making the vehicle nice and warm. She didn’t have to worry about the cold and could enjoy the bumpy ride along the unpaved forested road.

It also gave her the time to study the complex man besides her handling the ride with skill and dexterity. She would just have to accept that there were things in his past she would never know about him but she trusted him with her life. The man behind the wheel drove with confidence and instilled pride, which reflected that he did this regularly during his thirty years on planet earth. He drove through the rugged and steep terrain as if he was born and bred for it. He kept up a steady conversation with her, laughing up a storm, and braking around sharp corners without putting much thought into it.

With the storm over, the trees were fully leafed out and the snow had melted away under the heat of the sun in some place. Pine trees dotted the countryside standing beautiful and regal and she fought down the urge to decorate them like you would a Christmas tree. They passed spirited deer playfully running through the forest without a care in the world. Phillip told her that it wasn’t deer season and anyone found hunting them during this period would be fined and jailed. They parked by a huge cotton tree that looked like many generations had sheltered under its huge branches. She laughed at him earlier when he told her to carry a swimsuit, there was no way she was going in any ice cold water but once again he had delightfully surprised her.

They walked about half an hour until they reached a huge clearing and in the middle of it stood a waterfall, with running water crashing and pooling into a nice area for swimming. Phillip immediately shed all his clothes and dived in. Lorraine was no fool she tested it with her pinky expecting it to freeze off but the water was surprisingly warm, only then did she lose her clothes and jump in. They playfully splashed each other and frolicked in the water like a pair of mermaids. Next to tennis she loved swimming but was never fast. She couldn’t get times to beat competitors but she loved to watch it, diving and synchronized swimming during the Olympics.

“You were right Phillip, this place is so well hidden in the mountains. It was worth the walk and getting up early for.”

“Thanks Lorraine, you should have seen your facial expression when I told you we were hiking to a peak, it was most comical?”

“I thought you were being heartless,” replied Lo.

“Hiking to a peak, is not something you just get up and do, I would have to break you in gradually so that your body got accustomed to the walks before we did something as drastic as take on a peak.”

“I really appreciate you sharing the beauty of this place with me.”

“I’m glad you like it.” They were still in the water and he held her in his arms. She loved being this close to him, the water was no separator as she could feel every inch of his hardness brushing against her pert ass. Something passed between them and Lorraine was momentarily glad that they had this paradise all to themselves. The world fell silent around them the only sound the beating of their hearts in tandem.

“Lorraine.” He said, the single world said with so much intent and meaning. She turned around to look in his face, there was no doubt as to what he was thinking. Unconsciously her hands crept up around his neck, her feet wrapped around his hips, he carried her to shore and laid her out gently on the blanket. Phillip cupped her face with both his hands and kissed her slowly and thoroughly. She felt like it was her first time with him all over again. Her stomach did light flips and her legs trembled with anticipation of what was to come. He was no longer giving her soft butterfly kisses but something changed within him as he became fiercer in his possession of her.

A few hours later after eating and tidying up by the riverside, it was time to head home before it got too dark as there was no street lamps to guide their way home.

“You all right?” He asked when she had settled into the front seat. Lorraine smiled and nodded. He turned and brushed his lip against her temple before he started up the engine.
