Still no breakthrough in Lo’s case, the only option they had left was to set up a sting operation at Lo’s home. Since the unknown assailant was getting bolder every second, chances are they would return to the scene of the crime because they knew Lo now feared them since she ran. The trick now was to get Lo to comply and return. Especially, since she no longer felt safe there it was going to be a real challenge. While they would be at the ski lodge, Phillip gave his men orders to set up camera’s everywhere, as well as alarms that would be triggered the moment the criminal entered the house. He couldn’t post actual body guards, even though he knew that would make Lo feel safer because he didn’t want to scare off the coward. Lo didn’t have much of a social life and was very sheltered, so it had to be someone she knew or slight acquaintance that would be able to study her movements on a daily basis.
Outside the snow that had been falling gently earlier now turned ugly, blotting out the morning sun on the horizon. Lightening and thundered roared, and he looked up in time to see on the camera that Lo had awaken and was searching for him. She had this frightened look that touched his heart. She felt alone and scared in a strange place. He cleared the desks and turned off the lights it was time to go and join his love.
“Looking for me?” He looked at her amused, with that twinkle in his eyes.
“You really are heartless, leaving me all alone in this big ole place.”
He stared at Lo taking in her mussed hair and face devoid of makeup and he didn’t go running in the opposite direction. “How do you feel about being bait?”
“Sure why not, my dream job, who would want to turn down such an offer when there is a lunatic lurking in the shadows.”
He ignored her upset, which was justified. “It’s the only way I could think of to catch the perpetrator as they grow bolder they always return to the scene of the crime and they wouldn’t believe you’re getting help since you haven’t involved the police.”
He felt anxious now suddenly seeing so many holes in his plan, but then she looked at him thoughtful, quizzical and calm. In a surprisingly solid voice devoid of emotion. She said, “I will do it, I just want all of this over and done with.”
“Are you sure?” He said reluctantly, “It might not be a walk in the park like I made it sound earlier. In fact I can’t even have bodyguards on the property it might scare off the intruder, but I promise you this, I will put cameras and alarms everywhere, the moment it is triggered my men will swarm the perimeter, it could be dangerous.”
“Well then big guy, you will just have to teach me some moves to protect myself, maybe even show me how to use a gun.”
“Oh, all right, you will use the gun as a last resort though, the paperwork could get messy for someone without a gun license and I’m not even sure I want you acquainted with that kind of violence. I feel you are already thinking about owning a weapon you are gonna go and get one whether I want you to or not, so I might as well teach you how to use it properly.”
“Don’t worry about me, I can hold my own.”
“It’s not you I’m worried about, it’s the intruder who has to face down an angry black woman with a gun.” He said, trying to keep things light while Lo attempted a smile of her own.
“How are you feeling now?”
“In terms of?”
“You know, what we did last night.”
“A bit sore but I heal fast, you can’t possibly be looking for round 2 already?”
He ran his finger through his hair then looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “Sure I am, I’m always ready and willing, but I’m willing to wait for mutual satisfaction.”
“You’re shameless.” She said jokingly thinking about the handsome billionaire with no clothes on, she couldn’t help but return his interest.
“Come on, I’m starving let us go and make breakfast. Don’t worry about it Lorraine we’ll take whoever is guilty down together.” He held her hand and escorted her to the kitchen.
It felt like stones were hitting the rooftop rapidly, the sounds were loud and echoed across the lodge.

“What in the world is going on?”
“Since there is a storm brewing, it sounds like hail, the pellets made from the precipitation of hot and cold can either be small like grapes or large like grapefruits, which accounts for the different sounds you’re hearing right now.”
“What about the guys? Are they traveling in this weather?”
“Don’t worry they are safe and sound, holed up at the local inn with some pretty tourist girls from the party. Steve messaged me while you were asleep. The local weathermen recommended that everyone stay inside until the storm passes, so we’ll pretty much have the run of the place to ourselves.”
The moment he said that lightning flashed and the place went dark. Electricity was gone but she didn’t have to worry as the power generator chipped in with a loud whirring sound. Phillip lit the fire place and the much needed warmth made the place snug and nice. They ate breakfast by the fireplace and with their bellies filled they took turns showering. Due to the storm, even though it should be broad daylight the place was still very dark. Lorraine felt tired and went back to bed to take a nap. Phillip used the time to catch up on some paperwork in bed, whenever he wasn’t staring at Lorraine peacefully sleeping.
