“I can’t believe your dad has never had s*x in the past fifteen years,” said Chantal.

“Ew, Chantal,” said Destiny, grimacing. “That is so gross!”

“What is so gross about it?” asked Chantal. “How do you think you were born?”

“I know but that does not mean that I want to think about it,” said Destiny. “It is my dad, thinking about that stuff when it comes to him is so utterly gross.”

“I have a point though, you have to admit,” said Chantal. “Your dad has not gotten laid in fifteen years. Maybe he has had a few flings here and there, but considering the fact that he is your father and he pretty much taught you everything you know I would not be surprised if he has not looked at a woman in fifteen years.”

“Yeah,” said Destiny. “You do have a point. My dad must have needs, gross to think about though they may be.”

“And so do you,” said Chantal. “You can’t tell me that you do not have needs, Destiny. This is why I want you to have a one night stand, so that you can let your hair down and have an org*sm for a change. You need to start enjoying life. I just want you to be able to get out there and find yourself a man whenever you need something hot in your life. Once you do it for the first time, you are going to be able to continue doing it, and things will get easier for you in the long run.”

“I know, I know,” said Destiny. “I can’t just wait for a relationship to have s*x, sometimes I just need to get out there and do it. I am sure it will be fine. I will be open to the idea of it, okay? While all those guys are hitting on me I am going to try and separate the good ones from the gross ones and if I find one that is actually worth my time I will fu*k him. Happy?”

“Very,” said Chantal with a wide smile.

“Cabin crew, please take your seats for landing,” came the announcement from overhead. Chantal and Destiny rushed to their seats and sat down, buckling their seatbelts.

Destiny looked out onto the vast expanse of cloud that stretched out from the plane. It was such an utterly gorgeous view, in all honesty the single most beautiful view she had ever seen in her life. She would never tire of looking at it, and when the time did come to retire she was going to miss being able to see it so often. She had a feeling that her life was going to change very soon, or rather she felt like if she did not change it very soon she would end up going crazy.

Chantal was right about one thing. Destiny really did need to get out there and have some fun, otherwise she would end up going absolutely crazy. The thing was, Destiny did not really see how she would be able to enjoy her life if she did the things that Chantal did. She wanted a change, she wanted to enjoy herself, but the only person in her life that could help her do that would make her enjoy herself in a way that she would not actually enjoy in the first place.

The plane started to descend and Chantal could see the lights of the city in the distance. She saw the lights coming closer. Paris really was something else from up top, it was a city with an almost ethereal beauty to it, the sort of thing that you would not be able to describe if your life depended on it. She had come to this city several times before, but she never tired of this view.

She sometimes wished that she could be like Chantal. She sometimes wished that she could just let her hair down and not care about what everyone else had to say. Maybe then she would be happier. However, she knew that this was just her trying to find ways to be happy because she was not happy. She wanted something, anything to change, to bring her out of this rut. She had become a flight attendant so she could see exotic places, and so that she could experience a change in her lifestyle. She had seen a great many places. In spite of what Chantal had been saying, she went out quite a bit. She did not get drunk and party, but she did enjoy herself and saw whatever the city had to offer.

Now, however, she felt like even this was not enough. She felt like she was just trying to go through the motions and she was starting to find it increasingly difficult to do this. All her life it was as if she had been trying to distance herself from the death of her mother. She saw her father and she was afraid that this was what she would turn into if she was not careful. Now that being a flight attendant was not enough for her, she would have to find something else.

This was why she was open to Chantal’s idea of going out and partying. She wanted to do this because it would allow her to experience something knew, and perhaps spark that flame of excitement that had died down in her recently.

She really hoped that something would happen while she was out partying with Chantal, because if she was not able to find something that she enjoyed doing she would end up feeling extremely depressed. She hoped beyond all hope that tonight she would find something worth living for, something that would make her truly happy.
