Chapter 9
Destiny woke up feeling utterly relaxed. She could not remember the last time she slept like this. She had a feeling that she had not slept so soundly in a very long time indeed.
She was still snuggled into Jourdan’s chest, and his body still smelled just as nice as it had the previous night. He had such a lovely scent to him, it was almost a fragrance. Smelling him made her so happy because it filled her with all of the nice thoughts that she was not able to think of otherwise.
She kissed his chest. She could not help herself. She felt so much love for this amazing man in this moment that she was acting without thinking now. Last night had been so… stupid of her. She had been the one that had invited him up to her place, she had been the one that had made him sit down so that she could make him coffee, and she had been the one that had made the first move. He had been just as gentlemanly as ever while he had been trying to make her as comfortable as possible. She could tell that at many points he had wanted to come closer, there had been several situations over the course of the last few months when he had wanted to take her out, but whenever she had said no he had respected her decision completely and had never forced her to do anything at all.
And now… he was being kind to her once again. He was making her feel like everything was going to be alright. And this was something that she really appreciated, because it gave her a sense of calm that he would not have felt otherwise.
Even last night he had not gotten upset with her, even though he would have been well within his rights to do so. She had been the one to make all of the moves, and then when she had gotten him interested in the idea of having s*x with her and gotten him in bed she had suddenly decided that this was not, in fact, something that she wanted to do.
He had been halfway inside her when she had stopped him. She realized just how much of a frustrating thing this would have been for him, to be halfway inside a woman you desire so much only to have her stop you from going all the way in because she suddenly decided that this was not what she wanted to do.
He had not gotten angry with her, he had not gotten upset, he had not even said anything negative to her at all. Instead, he had consoled her and made her feel like everything was going to be okay. He truly was a remarkable person, someone who did not try to make people feel bad about themselves in any situation whatsoever.
He had held her afterwards… that had been the sweetest thing. He had held her and they had gone to sleep in that position, and now she was starting to realize that he was never going to force her to do anything she did not want to do. She was finally starting to realize that she did not love Jourdan… she was in love with him. She wanted to belong to him completely, she wanted to be the only one that he thought about, the only one he touched. She felt his arms around her and felt so complete, as if she was right where she was meant to be, as if there was no other place in the world that she was supposed to go to. This was her home, right here in the arms of the man that she loved.
She had not yet decided to be with him, that was a decision that she would not be able to make so easily, but she had made a lot of progress in the matter. Now, she did not care about that, at least not in this specific moment. What she cared about was loving her man and making him feel good. She wanted to turn him on once again.

As she felt his arms around her, she slid up and kissed him ever so softly on his lips. She realized that this was starting to become a pattern with them. The last time they had had s*x they had been this way as well. She had kissed him but she had been drunk so she had not had s*x with him, he had not even tried to force her. She was pretty sure that the thought had never even crossed his mind. That was the kind of person he was. When Destiny had awoken in the morning she had realized that she had her clothes on, realized that Jourdan had not even slept next to her at night, and she felt like she was going to tear his clothes off. The fact that he had not taken advantage of her while she had been vulnerable had been an enormous turn on for her, and trust was another thing that tended to get her juices flowing. The exact same dynamic was at play here. Forcing her was a very remote possibility. He had not even gotten mildly upset with her when she had stopped him from getting inside her the previous night. She had known so many guys that would have been upset, that would have called her a tease for doing this, but not Jourdan. He was too good a person to do anything like that. All he cared about was making sure that Destiny was happy and felt as safe as she possibly could. She felt so much love for him right now that it hurt, it physically ached within her, but she did not mind. It was worth it, to feel this ache, because it came with the single purest feeling that she had ever experienced before.

“My baby,” she whispered in his ear. “My baby. I…”
She stopped herself. They had just had s*x and it had been very intense indeed. She absolutely could not say anything along the lines of her loving him, that would lead to some serious problems. Even though they had just had s*x, she still did not know if being with him was what she truly wanted. She still did not know if he would be happy with her, or if she would be happy with him. Although they were as happy as they could possibly be in this particular moment, the moment would not last forever. Eventually they would have to look at the real world, and when they were outside of this paradise that they were in now they could not help but face the real world. It was all there was for them and their child, and so this was what they needed to prepare for if they wanted to be in a relationship with each other.
Jourdan pulled out of her. “Come here,” he said. “I want to hold you.”
She moaned once again and snuggled up into his chest. She wanted to say it so badly, but she did not. Even though it seemed like the right thing to say. She knew that just because it seemed like the right thing to say, did not mean that it actually was the right thing to say. They needed to be careful, lest they end up getting too attached. This would only make it more difficult if either of them realized just how much they wanted this.
