“That is such a nice thing to say,” said Destiny. “I honestly do not know how to respond.”

“Do not,” said Jourdan. “Do not worry about it. I am just saying these things because I think they are true, I am not saying them because I want a response from you.”

Destiny started to see an enormous mansion in the distance. There was nothing else around it, only vast sweeping green fields, and Destiny could see that the house was absolutely enormous.

“You live there?” she asked.

“Indeed I do,” Jourdan.

“That is incredible,” said Destiny. “It is like a palace or something. It is enormous!”

“It is my family home,” said Jourdan. “When my father died I inherited it from him. I prefer to live in the city, because I like to be in the middle of all of the activity, but the family mansion is a beautiful place as well. I had a feeling that you were going to like it, that is why I brought you here instead of one of my apartments in the city. I had a feeling that the country air would do you good, and that you would be able to relax more out here.”

The car pulled up in the driveway and Destiny exited. She looked around her. Everywhere she looked there was lush greenery. It was as if the garden inside the house was competing with the greenery outside, trying to one up the stretching fields and be even greener. Everywhere she looked she could see vines, and from those vines she saw grapes hanging down.

“This is a vineyard!” said Destiny.

“Yes,” said Jourdan. “this is the first vineyard my family ever owned. It was started by my great grandfather who was a really lovely man, he always tried hard to provide for his family. The vineyard grew and grew until it became big enough that we started earning a great deal of money from it. Eventually we got even bigger vineyards elsewhere and we were able to preserve this one as our own personal vineyard.”

“That is so amazing,” said Destiny. “So all of the grapes here and the wine from these grapes, all of this is yours?”

“Yes,” said Jourdan, “My personal stash. I make my own wine here, wine that no one else ever drinks. I only sell one bottle of the wine I make myself every year, and it goes for tens of thousands of dollars easily.

“That is so amazing,” said Destiny. “It is incredible that you are able to do this. I wish I was able to try your wine, perhaps after my pregnancy is over I would be able to try it. Or rather, perhaps after I am done breastfeeding my child. Oh darn, I do not think I am going to be able to try your wine for two whole years! That is so unfortunate!”

Jourdan laughed and said, “I suppose it is, but do not worry. I am not going to allow your first taste of my wine to go to waste. I am going to create a special bottle for you, one that has been created with great care. It will be the single most delicious bottle of wine that I have ever created, and it will be drunk only by you two years from now when you can finally drink wine again.”

“That is so sweet,” said Destiny. “I can’t believe that I am here, this is such an incredible place to live.”

“Come,” said Jourdan, “I will show you the rest of the estate.”

Jourdan took her hand and showed her his enormous estate. They needed to get into a little golf cart to be able to look at the whole thing as it really was almost as large as a village.

She saw the private lake that he had in his home, a lake that was perfectly safe to swim in. Destiny could not wait to swim in the sweet waters of this lake. It would be an experience worth remembering.

He also showed her his aviary, and the garden at the back of the estate where he grew all of his own vegetables. He had a fair bit of livestock as well, but he kept this livestock fairly far away from the estate because he did not want them to make the place noisy or stink it up.

Finally, Jourdan showed Destiny to her apartment, and left her alone in there. It was a lovely place, a large studio that was bigger than the apartment she had been provided by her airline. True to Jourdan’s words, it was almost like two large bedrooms in one. Half of the room was for the bed and the wardrobe, and the other half was a sitting area. There was a balcony right opposite the door that allowed entry into the room, and to the right of the door opposite the balcony was a kitchenette.

The apartment was lovely, and had everything that Destiny needed. The little fridge was well stocked and had a number of things in it that she would need. It also had a large number of treats, chocolates and such.

And on the bed was a bouquet of flowers along with a heart shaped box of chocolates, and a note that said, “To my Destiny, with all my love, Jourdan.”

Destiny pressed the note to her heart and smiled.
