Well, Aja could not blame him for that. She reached over and touched his knee gently.

“Do you think we’ll see her again this visit?”

He shook his head as he turned onto the road their little cottage was on.

“I doubt it. I want to tell dad when we meet him for dinner and he can decide if he wants to tell her about the baby.”

Aja nodded, her head still on his shoulder as they pulled into the driveway. They got out of the car and wandered back into the cottage to snuggle up on the couch together. They ended up spending the rest of their day on the couch, watching bad movies that made them laugh. They both just wanted to lighten the mood a little.

By the time they found their way to bed, the full moon was high in the sky and shining through the small bathroom window, illuminating the tiny room just enough for Aja to find the candles and light them. Finn wandered in and stripped his shirt off, pulling it over his head before reaching for the light switch.

“There are lights in here, you know.”

Aja smacked his hand away playfully, turning on the hot water and turning to face him.

“Don’t ruin the mood,” she murmured, shrugging off the robe that was wrapped around her shoulders.

She stepped back into the water, allowing it to cascade through her long hair.
