Chapter 2
When I woke up, I felt cold. I didn’t know where I was exactly, but there was something about this place that made me feel uneasy. I didn’t know what it was, but I felt like I was in a place that I had never been in before. I felt lost, alone, and scared.
When my vision cleared, I saw that there was a bed underneath me. It was a flimsy bed with a mattress that wasn’t anything to write home about, but it did feel better than sleeping on the floor. Still though, I knew this was a prison. It was a place that I wasn’t supposed to be in. I tried to remember what happened before I was knocked out, and the only thing that I could recall was there were three men, and one of them bit me.
I touched my neck. There were two puncture marks. So that really did happen. I did get bitten by what seemed to be a vampire. I didn’t know what to think, and I felt like it was something out of a dream. My body felt like I had run a marathon just now, and it su*ked. I hated it, but there was nothing I could do.
There was a small toilet in one of the other corners. When I finally started to move, I could smell the stench from it. Did they really not take care of this place? If so, what the hell was going to happen to me? I didn’t know what to think, and I was scared. Plus the smell got to me as well, and I could only breathe through my nose.
I looked out, and the whole place was dark. There were two small lights that dimmed a couple of areas, but for the most part it was pitch black. Even though I wasn’t a fan of the dark, I felt comforted. Why was that? When I focused on the two lights, a pounding feeling coursed through my body. My head was killing me, and my eyes hurt when I stared at it. When I didn’t focus on the dark portions, it was easier to deal with this place. I didn’t know where I was. Or even who was holding me in this place.
Was I away from my car? Did Ryan try to call me? I looked for my phone, but that, along with my wallet and keys were gone. I was scared. What if they tried to take all my money and then destroy everything that I had.? What did I do to deserve this?
I couldn’t’ think of any reason for me to even be here. I mean, I was a nice person, and I didn’t screw over anyone or try to hurt people. I was just a normal woman who was taken by some random people. What did this all mean for me?
As I mused on this, I heard footsteps. The guy turned on a light, blinding me. I screamed out in pain as soon as the light hit my eyes. I can’t take this. I just can’t. I hated it, and I know that despite the desire to get out of here, I was stuck. The man moved closer, and I could hear his footsteps echo through the hallway.
I squinted in an attempt to see him. He had long, dark hair and red eyes that looked like they lusted for blood. Did he want my blood? Was that the reason I was here? He stopped in front of the cell and looked at me, a smile on his face.
“So you’re the woman that I almost killed earlier. Maybe there is some use for you. I don’t see it right now, but I hope that I do. Your pathetic life depends on it,” he said.
He looked scary. He towered over me easily, and I know that he was serious about this. I was scared, and after a moment, he unlocked the cell. He walked in, grabbing my body.
I wanted to scream, to kick the guy and then run away. But I wasn’t able to. The light blinded me and I hated it. I was scared too, and I felt like my entire body was frozen in fear.
He stared at me for about a minute before he pushed me back down. It didn’t hurt, but it did jostle me for a second. He stared at me with a fixed gaze.
“So you are turning. I didn’t know if you would be able to take the virus. Maybe you might be of some use after all. I know that I need new blood in my army. You might be the right person for this,” he said.
His voice was cold. I didn’t want to be a part of some guys’ army. That was the last thing that I wanted.
“W-why am I here?” I breathed.
“Because, you had the unfortunate experience of coming into contact with me. You might think this is some little game, but I have plans for you. It depends on your strength though. If you’re strong, I’ll use you in my army as one of my servants. If you’re not fit for combat, I’ll still use you. Even if you turn into a weakling I’ll still use you as either bait or as an asset to trade. You fell in with the wrong crowd honey, and this is only the beginning,” he said.
His voice was cold, and I could tell the man was serious. He wasn’t messing around at this point, and when I heard those words, I grew scared. I felt like all of the attention was on me, and I was at the mercy of this man.

“W-what are you going to do with me?” I managed to say
“Ahh, so she speaks! Well, I think I’m going to leave you here. At least for now. You’re not useful at the moment, so I guess I’ll just leave you here until I decide what to do with you. I might have one of my guards come down to watch over you. I don’t want you getting away,” he said.
He looked at me with a stern gaze before leaving. He didn’t even bother to turn off the light, and I felt like my energy was being drained more and more with each passing second. I don’t get it; the bas*ard had the decency to lock the door, but he can’t turn off a light switch. Seems legit.
I felt like an animal in a cage. I needed to get the fu*k out of here, but I wasn’t able to. I was still weak, and I hated it.
Dinner came shortly after. It was mostly scraps, but there was a tiny cup of blood. I looked at the blood with disgust. What the hell was this? Was I supposed to drink it? I ate the food, but I left the blood.
