Janelle yawned, stretching grandly in her seat. “Where’s here?”

“Let’s see if you can guess. How about that?”

Reece took her hand as they stepped off of the plane. A car was waiting for them. After Reece had helped someone place their bags in the trunk, he slid behind the wheel. Janelle glanced around them, searching for some clue for where they were. As soon as they had left the airport, she figured it out very quickly.

“Paris! We’re in Paris,” she said excitedly.

“You’re right,” Reece said with a grin. “What do you think? Do you like it?”

“I love it!” Janelle cried as she leaned over in her seat to place a kiss on his cheek.

Reece sighed. “Good, I’m glad.”

Janelle could see the look of relief on his face. She smiled. Sometimes he had an innocent side of himself that she loved to catch glimpses of. Janelle pressed her hand into his.

“It’s beautiful,” she said gazing at the city.

It was a beautiful place. Snow still stuck to everything giving it a romantic look. The leftovers of yesterday’s valentines day still hung around in some places. Janelle mentally made notes of the museums and cathedrals that she wanted to visit as they drove through the lightly populated streets.

When they reached the hotel, they were given a set of key cards to a suite on the top floor. A bellboy helped move their bags as they checked out their suite. It overlooked a wide range of the city, lights sparkling as the sun was starting to set. The suite itself was impressive with a large master bedroom, kitchen, living room and dining room, two bathrooms and a powder room. The main bathroom even held a hot tub for them to use. Janelle turned to Reece as the bellboy started speaking in rapid french.

“Oui,” Reece said quickly, tipping the man. “Merci.”

“What did he say?”

“You’ll see,” Reece said with a grin.

“You’re so secretive,” she laughed as she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Thank you. It’s an amazing surprise. What should we do first?”

“Let’s go get something to drink, then come back up in an hour,” Reece said checking his phone.

“Why an hour?” Janelle raised an eyebrow.

“Damn it, woman. You’re asking too many questions. Let’s go already,” Reece teased.

Janelle laughed, looping her arm through his. They took the elevator to the floor below. When they stepped outside, the cold air made both of them pull their coats a little tighter around themselves. They picked up their speed before they stopped in a small cafe.

Reece ordered both of them coffee and pastries. The pastries arrived first and both she and Reece made short work of them before the coffee was brought out. Janelle took a sip uncertainly, then nodded.

“It’s good. Strong, but good. I still think I’m more of a tea person,” she said with a laugh.

“It takes a while to get used to. Let’s go to the art gallery next door. It’ll let us kill a little more time. Besides, there are some great pieces there I really want you to see.”

They walked over to the art gallery hand in hand. Janelle took her time gazing at each one. Most of them were in the same style that she’d admired from back home. Reece didn’t rush her as she went from photo to photo examining every aspect of it. When they were done, they headed back to the hotel.

While they were gone two massage tables had been set up in the living room. Two women welcomed them before handing them robes and letting them get changed into them. Janelle was excited. She couldn’t remember the last time she’d had a massage, but it was long overdue.

“You’re amazing,” she sighed as one of the women began to run her hands over her skin.

“I thought you needed some relaxation after all of the planning. I felt like I wasn’t around enough.”

Janelle gazed at him. “You’re amazing, you know that?”

Reece grinned. “I love you too.”

By the time the women were done rubbing them down, the dining room smelled faintly of massage oils. Reece thanked the women before they disappeared through the door with a wave. When it was just the two of them, he wrapped his arms around her.

“Come here, I have another surprise.”

“You’re spoiling me,” she said with a grin.

Janelle followed him to the bedroom. In their absence it had been filled with burning candles. Rose petals lay on the floor and bed. The smell of roses filled Janelle’s nose making her sigh happily.

“Thank you, Reece. Really,” she said with a soft smile.

“Words aren’t nearly enough,” he said in a familiar deep tone that made her belly clench with anticipation. “You’ll have to show me,” he added with a wink.
