Marc looked down at Naomi who seemed to be quite content lying against his chest since they had woken up an hour ago. In the middle of the night, the pair had woken up for a second round, confirming Ezra’s statement that the walls really were soundproof. No matter what sort of sounds they had made the night before, the boy would have either had a good night’s sleep or have been scarred for life. It was pretty much tested and approved as much the bed they were lounging in was definitely marked.

Naomi felt a little bad for his cleaning staff who were due to come in later in the day to clean up the apartment, but according to Marc, the amount they were getting was supposed to be fair. When she had asked what it was, she was quite shocked to hear that it was more than what she had made as an intern.

“What is it?”

“So, I’ve been looking around at other places that I could work at if I considered staying in the city, come December…”

“Yeah?”

“There’s another hospital that’s got a pretty good reputation reportedly a few miles from here that’s apparently looking for junior doctors. The hours aren’t as bad as working at St. Joseph’s and the pay is apparently higher despite the competitive spirit between the two hospitals.”

He ran a finger along the skin of her naked side. “Thinking of taking it? I know you really wanted that job on the west coast.”

Naomi let out a sigh before rolling over to look at Marc in the eye. “I did, really. But I realized that if it’s not making me happy, there’s no point so I’m going to be around the people who do.”

“Is that a less cheesy way of saying you love me?”

She shook her head with a lazy smile on her face before she gave him a quick peck on the lips.

Yes, yes, it is.

The end.
